Took about 12/13 kills soloing Quagmire Pugil and Sunderclaw but managed to get a Colorful Abyssite so can now spawn tier 2 VNMs.

Afer about six weeks being on the current mission, I cleared the Full Moon Mountain BC for A Shantotto Ascension. Not a hard fight really and a really interesting cutscene afterwards with a twist I never expected.
Even the good Shantotto has plans to create her own empire
Ready for the final BC now and hopefully this can be my priority to get knocked on the head then I'll look at the WOTG quests I've not started yet.

After the April Fool's prank yesterday on BG, someone now actually has completed one of the magian Occ. attacks twice weapons (dagger).
Early tests have put it at having a 40% proc rate (but that is only after a very small sample size).
Oh and apparently, /nin won't get Innin or Yonin when the level cap is increased. But /rdm will get convert.Last edited by C'; 02-04-2010, 08:20.

I'm a recent starter (well, I'm a 'starter-again'.. on and off for years now..) but today achieved the following:
Rank 3 Bastok
Level 22WHM (that means 11 BLM sub)
Completed the supply quest to Pashhow Marshlands (and almost cried when I saw the size of the monsters there!)
If anyone is reading this thread and thinking about jumping on, but thinking it's too old to enjoy, too late to get on.. you're wrong. This is the finest game ever made imho

Looks like phase 3 of the staff trial is two separate trials, as the resulting reward is different for each. Taking your advice Rare, I joined some random Nyzul shouts and nailed about 38 kills in three ****ty runs. The first one only managed 2 floors, and the second people had obviously never fought Fafnir before, which ended in a rage of Flails, with people around 4 sides of it. The screenshot speaks for itself.

Whilst I obviously agree with the majority of comments in that screenshot I do laugh at the final comment as a NIN in full Usukane would attack slower than if they had other pieces of gear.
Usukane only has 3 pieces of equipment with Haste (Head 3%, Legs 3%, Feet 2%) with the full set offering a further 5% for a total of Haste+13%. This is great for a MNK. They have the wonderful Black Belt which has a further 12% putting them at 25% (which is practically the cap for Haste from equip.
For NIN however the best option in the Waist slot is a Velocious Belt/Speed Belt (6%) taking them to 19%.
My non-Usukane build is currently at 20%/21% (dependant on whether Koga Tekko is active or not) and that is with a 4% Swift Belt, not the 6% option. In those same gear slots a NIN can use Wahlara Turban (5%), Dusk Gloves (3%), Byakko's Haidate (5%) and Fuma Sune-ate (3%). They also have 2 options for the body piece with Enhances Dual Wield effect (Mirke Wardecors for +3% or Ninja Chianmail for +5% attack speed).
I'm not saying Usukane is bad, but it certainly isn't a "Hundred Fists" gear set. The benefits of Usukane come from the incredible amounts of accuracy (which is totally not needed in Nyzul Isle anyway) as well as decent amount of STR, Attack and store TP it provides, not attack speed.Last edited by C'; 06-04-2010, 11:44.

Really? I thought you said Dual Wield was better then the 4% Haste a while back, as i've always used Reverend Mail for Accuracy. I'm not sure how it all works anyway. With Goliard i'm able to reach 23% Haste on WHM. It has a few more uses, like a devotion piece, and good for RDM too.
It should make it easier to get Denali too, as it frees up an extra spot when we're shouting for people.

Nah, Dual Wield is rarely better than Haste.
In terms of meleeing, Haste purely speeds up your melee speed. Dual Wield reduces the combined delay of your 2 weapons by the percentage on the piece (3% on ACP body) which also speeds up your rate of attack but has the side effect of reducing TP per hit (as your delay is reduced).
However if you were fighting something where your accuracy was low, I'd imagine the combination of Acc+10 and DW+3% would enhance your DOT more than Haste+4%.
