Thanks to Akashi for the offer of help tonight and to Rare, Wedge, Daragon and Walt... for accomodating the change of night.

Bayans camp directions were spot on and apart from Wedge wandering a little far^^ we got set up to take the mobs. Everything went smoothly and we got the key after about an hour.

Daragon and I stayed, with Akashi's assistance to look for a chest. After doing a pretty good sweep of the zone and with Daragon + another looking I figured I would head up to the Beaucedine Glacier zone to take a look there. After a long trek it turns out that the little beauty is there waiting for me Opened the chest then a quick Warp out to avoid the agro.

Still need to kill Dark Spark NM in Castle Zvahl Bailey to get my AF piece - they don't make this easy!

I'm pleased Rare got a whole bunch of Skill Ups taking these mobs as well, always nice that other people can benefit from this!

Luckily, I got my af pants in the end. Just happened to log in at 1:45 in one of the coffer spawn rooms and there was my little coffer chest just sat in a corner away from the mobs

Not sure if I should go for the body piece, I know it won't beat my Black Cotehardie but it could still be useful as a macro item. The next item on my list however is STILL the moldavite earring - for a rare/ex item the mob isn't lightly camped I'm beginning to wonder whether or not I'll ever own that item

Well I didn't actually finish no, I laid off on the hoovering out of respect for my neighbours who may have been trying to sleep lol.

Just been back to Castle Zvahl to check out how the demons I need to kill for AF2 are shaping up 5 levels on - seems they are tough at 55. I hit one of them with Freeze, which took off something like a 5th of it's health (649 damage) - Gravity was resisted, Sleep II stuck. It had hit me 3 or 4 times by then and I was down in the yellow.. would have liked to have busted Tornado on top of Freeze to see how it stacked up, but I was using my (now underlevelled) rdm sub to get there and don't have enough MP with that job. If I had smn sub, dark staff, ginger cookies, fruit juice and enough space between mobs to rest safely maybe... this time I used the opportunity to warp out with my xp intact. I might try again once I've got my rdm sub up to scratch. But it looks like I'm either going to need some help or a few more levels.

I think I can probably help you out there D, I was in a party a couple of nights ago with 2 BLMs in Crawlers Nest. Once the crabs got to just above 50% both started casting AM, one casting freeze, the other tornado. I ws able to hold hate with them landig for 900+ damage each though on occasion an extra voke or shield bash was needed. Would guess they should by EP or DC to me now. I'm just 7k away from 58 niw so give me a shout if you need me.

At some point I need to get up there for a coffer key as well at some point, don't know if that would be from the same mobs mind.

I've been all over Castle Zvahl baileys on this quest and those are the toughest mobs I've seen in the place, unless the coffer key drops off something in the Keep itself I'd be surprised if it comes from anything more challenging.

hmmm, At 55ish we are exping against Coffer mobs so would be suprised if the Castle Zvahl ones are only T to you at 55. The Keep sounds more likely in my opinion.

Thing is, the demons I met in the keep were actually of a lower level than the ones in the baileys! They were on a par with the ones which patrol the aurora crevasse. Although I only explored the left hand side, so I imagine if you go through the doors to the right you can go much further in and find some real nasties hidden away.

In other news, the new Xbox 360 seems rather steep.

Was toying with getting one but not at that price. Call my cynical, but it wouldn't surprise me if its being released early enough to become a "must have" toy by Christmas, with an inflated price tag to catch everyone who feels compelled to buy it for their kids (otherwise they'll be "the only one who hasn't got one"), with plenty of room to discount it in the new year for to capture their more sensible target market!

Balls to the 360, I hardly touch my xbox so that can certainly wait. Also I don't understand how they can use a game like FFXI to sell it when the HDD is non-standard. Seems like a really scrappy launch to me.

Well, ?210 for the entry model is an attractive price point for a next generation console. When you consider the extras you get in the premium pack, the added price also seems more than reasonable, especially if you can take advantage of the included extras such as the Hi-Def cable (which would set you back an extra ?20+). Still, ?280 + Game(s) does end up being a serious chunk of money.

Also, despite listening and reading the reasoning by Microsoft on releasing two different versions of the console (with and without HDD), it still seems like an absolutey crazy decision in my opinion...
