Yeah I do get that. And had we had a second sleepga things could have been a lot different which is why I don?t want to lay the blame totally at the lack of Sleepga 2.

However, it would have made a difference (enough to bring about a win, who knows).

Obviously Lullaby would have been preferable but we're not exactly rolling in BRDs on the LS.

Do you not think I'm trying to make 1m gil on my own Rare? As I explained at the time, BCNMs/ENMs are my major source of income right now - the way of crafter will most likely be forever closed to me and whenever I find something worthwhile to farm, some dickhead comes along and forces the price of it down to such an amount that it no longer becomes worth the time to farm.

Many of the items I can use at my level are also rare/ex, which means that in some cases I need help to obtain them and not gil - moldavite earring for example, thats a prime piece of rare/ex - I know at my level I can solo the goblin but that isn't the problem - with so many black mages camping it each day its whoever sees it first and gets off the first stun who wins. I put up with **** like that in everquest and its one of the major reasons I quit - I don't have 24/7 to devote to one mob (I wouldn't have minded if it were a 100% drop, but its far from it).

Now I accept that the gil making issue is down to me in part and my lack of get-up-and-craft, but in some cases if I had just a tiny little bit of help now and then I could be so much better than I am, and ultimately everyone benefits from that in the end...

I'm an odd sort I guess I expect my mages to have every spell available to them at the level it comes up in general or at most by 5 levels past when it comes to really expensive ones, of which there aren't any left. Sleepga 2 is 1 million now and lets face it you expect your NINs to Utsusemi: Ni I see it no different just because its situational. Even AM these days is free pretty much sold burst the other day for 50k, think quake is the only big one left.

Suppose the other one is sleepga 2 is free, all you have to do is quest it. Remember the LS run ages ago, not really that tough a mob can be done on the way to ramuh for a laugh.

Like I say I'm a weirdo I've never levelled missing any spell on any job or any piece of gear I should have. My SMN is still 10 till I get fenrir and diabolos as I refuse to level without them, only reason its 10 is for the christmas card quest

I hate to sound like I?m picking at you all the time as I really don?t want to (if you notice I ommited your name form the conversation referring to only a ?BLM? as I didn?t want this to be ?I think Daragon sucks, who?s with me?? *high fives* post ).

I have no problem helping people (and I think this applies to most of us on the LS) within reason (that was a natty Shaman?s Cloak you had on last night, how did you get that again? ) but it has to be within reason. No one is going to go out and do some farming with you, craft with you etc. That is something we all have to do on our own.

I think sometimes people hear you complain about these problems you have crafting/farming and, to me personally, it comes across that you feel as though you?re the only one who is affected by these issues, when in reality they hit us all. It?s how you react to them. Unfortunately all to often (to me anyway) it comes across that your reaction is to metaphorically sit in the corner sulking, mumbling that ?it?s not fair? and hope it all gets better when others adapt, find new ways to make that gil. Yes we may make an exclaimation on the LS ?damn those scallywags, they?ve crashed X market? but we don?t throw our toys out of the pram and refuse to do anything else. We change.

Same with Moldavite I guess. I did help you once and we were outclaimed. Them?s the breaks. But I can?t possibly help you every time and you do have the facility to try and do it solo (which is not the case of many parts of the game), and you certainly won?t get the claim if you?re not there to try. I think Apathye went something stupid like 0/13 but he never once gave up.

How about this though? Both you and Yenyoju need Sleepga 2. We get a LS group together, complete the quest (I?ll tank it if you like) then we go back to the BCNM60 with the 5 remaining orbs, with Yen as BLM instead of RDM and get us all some gil. However, I?m not going to organise this for you. You and Yen get together, set a time, recruit help and we?ll do it. I bet the 5 people in the BCNM would be willing to help if it means finishing off our BCNM and potentially getting some gil.

Also, I don't mean to start stirring some heated argument. Ok, so sometimes I get a bit pissed off when I find out I'm going to have to start slashing prices on stacks of items by as much as 30k but thats the extreme of it. Last night when I was farming out on K.Highlands, I came across an unclaimed Stray Mary - only got a jug of milk for my troubles, had a bit of a FFS moment but I moved on. I know I can be a bit of a pain in the ass sometimes what with complaining about stuff, but lets face it - I'd be dull otherwise

As for farming and prices for goods, sometimes items go through fads and what may seem like a great market is only ever going to be temporary due to recent additions to the game.

A couple of examples. Poison potions were in major demand with the introduction of uncapped Diabolos (for Sleepga) and price shot up. I synthed some of these and couldn?t believe the profit margins. Once the excitement on getting Diabolos passed prices settled.

However the biggest was Slime Oil at the launch of Treasures of Aht Urghan. I had an advantage here as I had been farming these for ages anyway, but with people desperate to get the staging points and new jobs, demand for Silent Oil was high, which meant so was the Slime to make it. I think the price peaked at 80k a stack and I literally couldn?t keep my Ah slots filled it sold so fast. I would literally list them, run back to moghouse and find all 7 had sold. It was insane. Obviously I was gutted when this ended (less than a week later) but made the most of it when I could (spent the weekend farming instead of exploring the new zones).

there are now lots ways to make gill outside of farming/ENm/Bcnm20:30:60, specially at 75 you could get yourself into a Sky or Hnmls, earning point to get crafting item to sell on, or do assaults as most of the items are still selling for 500-3m and off course the new 'free' IS battles which i will sort out once i get my haste turban (@19,2k IS)

Yeah, i'm in for as many of these as I can. The belt looks like a decent piece for me (non Exp) and if the opportunity arrises to sell for 3m ish, then that is my Enfeebling Torque issue sorted!

Dara - i'm not a fan of camping NM's either - i've had so little sucess (only biggy was Leaping Boots back in the day) and failure always seems like such a waste of my precious time. Its either loose out on the claim (don't mention Spook) or no drop (0/10 over *many* hours on Dune Widow). I would love the Moldavite earing also but at present I am looking at items obtained through fun social events like Assault rather than the boredom and unpredictability of solo NM camping.

I tend to agree with Tsing about Spells / Equipment and i've always either obtained before or stopped leveling when a Spell is available to me. However, I guess I here what Dara/D is saying mind as I can't afford an Enffebling Torque at the moment which is really a RDM must have, and am progressing with the Spider Torque instead... Still if the Potent Belt thing comes off...

All I was saying is Sleepga 2 is more or less a luxury, having it means you can do BCNM60s and KSNMs (entirely optional events) but not having it doesn't really make a jot of difference to much else. I don't think Daragon would have made it as far as 75 before this issue came up if it was an essential spell.

You're right of course but that is an odd exception as there is not one moment in an Exp party (any party) where you would use Phalanx. In fact its all but useless at the level you get it due to the Enhancing Skill cap. If I were a BLM I would consider Sleepga II a luxery yes, but definately one that I would want right away and may be called upon in any group environment.

Nobody EVER calls for the RDM to use Phalanx. I would certainly expect a Sleepga II call from time to time.

Well that goes without saying, we all want everything available for our jobs - but you have to prioritise in this game or you'd be constantly standing still, and that wouldn't be much fun.

This is true enough I remember stopping levelling for 3 months to put together my DD gear and sort out all my subs. It gets tedious after a time, its down to how you play in the end. I've always been a completionist of the worst sort so its no suprise the way I work.

I have been on a bit of a retro spending spree lately, Megadrive, Mega CD and a bunch of JP Saturn shooters, great fun for short blasts but need something to sink my teeth into again.

I kind of forgot where I was upto with things.

I still have that Picaroon and Hickory shield in Mog Locker, also got the 72-75 on Bst to finish, so some good stuff to get back into.
