Has anyone tried that moogle event? I teamed up with someone last night, didn't have a clue what was happening though.

Am really startting to get a feel of how everything works in Vana'diel, it's so indepth i just keep coming back for more. I havn't gone near any other game since i started playing .

Enjoyed the Assaults on the whole last night.

Was glad to finally clear Imperial Agent Rescue and in the manner in which we did (clearing 2 doors and running really close time-wise). I'd like to do that a few more times as I learnt a few more things that leads me to believe that it isn't as reliant on luck as I first thought. Also me using low damage weapons against people using Soboro and Joyeuse is not smart. Need a lot of points in that zone and once I rank up I'll probably go through the different level assaults in a cycle rather than focussing on a single one. Me and Moot both want the 20000 point item from there.

Worm cleansing was usual brainless fun. Much needed after the stresses of dodging stave tosses.

However, I'll admit I didn't have much clue what was happening for Ilrusi Atoll. The idea of melee subbing SMN just baffled me and it was clear that whatever was planned didn't work. Checking the mission description it appears we have to find a Golden Figurehead off a ship which I presume is in one of the chests in the zone with the others being mimics. That being said why didn't we just stick together and kill all the mimics? Me, Tobal and Tal managed to kill ours in amongst me not having a clue what was happening, none of us being ready to fight and myself using a 360 pad (I'm not used to playing with a controller yet so am less swift around macros compared to on keyboard). I reckon a group of 6 of us could tear through the mimics. I'm just not a fan of "we need an <insert job here> for this mission". Sure it may make it easier but I'd rather just go for it and see if we can do it with what's available.

I agree Rare that would likely work, there are aobut 20 mimics out there though so time is vewry tight. When tobal and I cleared it the method was the SMN popped the chest then got out of agro range while carby died that way no fighting was required, which was good given it was the last chest we found.

We thought subbing SMN we could use that approach but our subs were to low adn the cap to high so we got murdered.

What a great session, among other things i jumped on a boat to the middle of nowhere, then didn't have enough money to get back. Getting stuck was quite funny.

Cheers to Tobal for bringing me to San d'Oria, also for giving me some cash to buy maps lol. Good to finally get out of Bastok. Good response to "you're a Galka?" lol.

Well San?d is the greatest of country?s, good weekend for me. Completed a pile of assaults (5.5k from potent belt), got in a exp party with a few AnD people and moot, got a crap load of exp which also got me enough IS for the turban and mamook map. Gods finished of the last of my exp buffer(now 1.7k) largely thanks to a massive messup on a 2nd Kirin fight when they failed to get 1st summon lesser god pet out the way and when they did we didn?t have tank we resulted in a crap load of deaths for everyone. Out of all that it got a v.claw to sell which will let me afford a cursed togi to make the Shura Togi, oh and also got my relic hands upgraded to +1.

Obtained a few more merits this weekend which I dropped onto Katana skill which is now at level 2 for an extra 4 skill points. Plan to modify this up to level 8, the remaining 6 of which need 3 merits each (so 180,000 EXP). This is vital to building a viable haste build ninja as a lot of haste equipment comes at the expense of accuracy/attack so which can be made up to some extent via the skill bonus.

Most interesting party was yesterday morning in Mamook. My previous party there had focussed on Spinners only but this one literally went through the entire zone killing everything we came across. Was a great way to EXP.

I know Tobal got his Walhara Turban last night (congratulations) but I?m still about 700 imperial standing short myself (I?ve handed in 700 imperial bronze currency so far) but don?t want to use up all my IS as I need it to get around (Runic Portal passes and warps to Jeuno from the Tarutaru) and I?m also interested in attempting an ISNM so I?ll need some points for that. I can?t really make full use of the turban anyway yet as it comes at the expense of Accuracy and Evasion so I need to get those merited to make up for the Optical Hat loss.

Picked up a remarkable 15 kindred seals this weekend so have a KSNM run arranged for this evening to hopefully make up a little more gil. Got my eyes on 2 high end pieces of gear which will need a lot of gil. First will be Dusk Gloves (some HP+, Haste+3% and Attack+5) going for around 5.5m and Peacock Charm for 11m. Nowhere near these figures yet so fingers crossed for some good drops from KSNM.

And then there was redoing ZM. I?m keen to get a WHM up to sky so we can have a bash at finishing up the Zilart story so helped out Beregorn and Kuponut on these. Certainly interesting with our less than optimum parties. Tsing ate a massive Everyone?s Rancor which basically one-shotted him in ZM4 but we had no other problems apart form that. Cleared 3 of the 4 ZM5 NMs too. Most interesting of which was Behemoth?s Dominion with no pet puller and a NIN WHM WHM DRK THF setup meaning we had to contend with both at once. I took 3 critical hits in a row which dropped me to 32HP (4 Max HP merits ftw ). Will trek through Ifrit?s Cauldron tomorrow for the remaining NM and perhaps ZM6. After that Dj, I?m afraid to say you may be a bit low to progress as I would recommend melee at 70 for ZM8.

Also, can?t say too much yet but I have a massively important decision to make.

What exactly would I need to re-install FFXI on a new PC at a later date? Are the registration codes locked into a single machine? I sort of hope they are, cos those codes departed for Orkney in one of a million non-descript cardboard boxes (along the lines of the end scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark) yesterday. Oops.

The registration codes are only used for registering content IDs/expanded content, not for installing the software. When you reinstall the game and first log into Playonline Viewer you are given 2 options. Create a new account and recover an existing an account. You select the second option and I?m pretty sure all you need is your Playonline User ID (4 letters and 4 numbers) and your password.

The easiest way is to backup the whole existing Playonline folder to a DVD (or similar) then reinstally the game on the new PC from the original media and simply copy the backup over the new install. It will error then data check on the first run but will be fine, keeping all your codes, passwords, setting and importantly macros.

Excellent, that'll work well because it's already installed on an external HDD (in a firewire-caddy) that I planned to take with me. I actually don't have many macros set up on the PC version, I've never really used it!

Who wants to place bets on what Rare's big decision is... I reckon he's leaving the country too ^^ (in which case it's not just black mages that do it, heheh)

Oh man, you?ve said that and made me realise how small the decision seems in comparison to what you are doing.

It?s an in game thing anyway and to be honest it came out of nowhere and I certainly never considered myself up to the task.

However, before I make the decision there is one individual I need to speak with in relation to it.

I'm intrigued now, I thought you'd already tackled most of the 'big rep' things like Divine Might, Hakutaku, Fenrir etc.. what else is there? There's Waking the Beast but that's an alliance job.
