Some more Assault action happened this evening, 1/2 on wins.

We struggled to do the Seagull Grounded one again, but started to figure it out near the end, need to try again and get the win.

Then tried the Leajoum Sanctum Level 2, not very exciting but we got the win.

Darwock's links to his images from his time in game got me interested in my own visual records of my adventurers. Sadly my first webspace is no longer accessible so many of my earlier pictures I no longer have access to. They should still be in this thread if I trawl through it which I may do one day.

But there are massive gaps. Its definetely worth doing, thinking down the line when your FFXI days are long gone and quite possibily servers not running anymore the best way to look back on your time on the game is from the pictures you take.

I have loads but not organised very well, also lately I have been re-encoding all my fraps videos, I have some really nice moments too, some of my favourites are:

Entering the Hall of Gods and going to Sky for the first time, having a guided tour round the place.

My numerous battles against Novv the Whitehearted.

The Opo Opo Crown quest, one of my fav quests as its got some nice cutscenes and some music I have only heard on this CS and once on a CoP CS, cant find it on any of the albums or anything.

Gods in Sky with my first HNMLS.

Climbing the mountain in Attohwa Chasm for the first time, getting very lost.

Promyvion Boss fights and Diablos, the winning moment.

Oh and of course the Shadowlord fight.

This will all be good stuff to watch when you want to just go back on some memories of the game.

Rant start....... (Be warned)

On another note, total ups and downs day yesterday that sadley left me on a downer thinking about should i move on from FFxi.

Some of you guys already know about what im about to mention as i mentioned it during our failed BCNM60 :/ but its come to the point now were i need some advice.

Over a month ago now i paid a in game merc to solo the sleepga 2 nm for me so i could sell it and buy my hauby. I paid the merc 300k to do it for me, which was pretty expensive but I wanted a hauby so bad so i could get back on the lvling road and not be a gimp drk.

2 weeks later i got a msg of her sayin that i still owed her 300k! I was like no i dont i paid you in full, and i started getting abusive messages of her and about 5 of her friends. After some advice from guys i was in a pty with i just added them to my blist and got on with things. Ive had the odd tell every now and then but then this week just gone ive had nothing.

Then last night i was exp'in in Bibiki Bay and she road past me on a chocobo as a red mage, announced that she was going to **** up our party. After about 10 mins she came back as a bst and started claimin mobs and unclaiming them so they disapeared.

I explained to the party, and they had words but it made no difference. Our jp whm kept on saying (Mug) (No, Thanks) which i found amusing but still she just carried on. As there wasnt much i could about it as i found out that a 75 bst would exp here anyways.

So i mentioned it to the LS for advice, should i GM call? i didnt really know. Sae asked for her details and i passed them on. He had words but sadley said that it seems a little odd that shes going to so much trouble, and that did i defo pay her. No offence to Sae but i thought that an LS's word would have been taken over a strangers, but everyones entitiled to there own opion off course.

Rabs was cool and just told me not to sweat it, as he had heard about her before but not heard any good or bad stories about her. But still it left me on a complete downer.

My party then broke up as the exp had gone from really good to next to nothing.

I then just decided to log, not like me as i normally stay up on the game till gone like midnight. But i felt like i was in a schoolground being bullied by a 6th former or somthing.

As Tsing said to me a while back, in later lvl's this game is all about Rep, and ive been trying to build a good one, doing CoP with random people who msg me from time to time. Assault with some randoms the other day with a big 2mil reward to split, I always start my own parites and keep them going as long as poss with replacements etc...

It might just be a one off, her turning up but then again it might not and i dont want a bad rep before ive even managed to build a good one. I mean what are my options pay again? and wait another 4 weeks before it all starts over again? Start a new character? Im not seeing a way out here.

So im looking to u guys for advice, i mean what do i do? I normally get abit of farming in on a morning before i go to work but couldnt get the get up and go for it this morning. The whole affair is just makin feel like i want to move on from the game, but i really dont want to. (Help me out?)

Ignore the idiot; she can only waste so much of her time, hopefully you?ll never see her again after Sunday and If you do she is only cementing a bad rep for herself. Every time you see her harassing the party you?re in just call a GM, and bad reps don?t stop a lot of people just look a Lewis, somehow when the general thought of the AnD Ls is the guys a chump he?s been made an officer(which lead to AnD?s first wipe on a lesser god last Sunday when he was in charge).

Indeed - just ignore them dude. Other than that don't pay randoms to get stuff done for you. You are in a Linkshell where there are plenty of people that will help you out on things like this

Firstly Dj, cheers for the webspace offer but I?ve stuck my pics on Photobucket which seems to be a nice option for now.

As for your other situation, this is truly horrible. Mercenaries are bad. They are not something I?d recommend no matter how desperate you are as there is only your word against theirs regarding payment and fulfilment of ?contract?. Have to say I?m actually a bit disappointed that your first thought was to go to a merc instead of asking for help on the linkshell (especially as it has now been revealed that some of our LS BLM need the spell). Yes it may not have been done there and then but it would get done.

Fact is it really is her word against yours. None of us can be 100% sure what has actually happened. However, what is clear now is that you are being harassed by a fellow player and that is against the terms of service. Irrespective of whether your zone of choice was a place that BST could EXP, it sounds like she stated explicitly (either in /tell or /say) that her reason for doing what she was doing was purely to impact on your playing experience, which was incredibly stupid on her part as this is written evidence that she intended to harass you. I would make a GM call regarding the incident (you?ll need time, location and names) as they will have the chatlogs recorded. Nothing may be done the first time but I think it would be kept on record and should she continue to bother you (and actually say directly to you that she plans to do so) make further GM calls. Oh and don?t tell her your calling GM. You want her to keep saying what she is doing and not get more crafty about it.

I will defo be staying away from mercs from now on. It wasnt my first thought it was just that i had Tobal, yen, wedge and a few others come out that day to help me kill the NM and we couldnt as it was New Moon and therefore it wouldnt pop and felt abit awful about asking again >< I didnt know anyone else needed it in the LS at the time, as i did mention it a few times that day. Yen was in a grp at the spawn point, were i was and sadley they wouldnt help as we had no tank in the group and the bst turned up doing it for sombody else and offered me the service too.

Yeah I just hope it stops, but will defo call a GM from now on didnt really know were i stood with that. Ive not spoke to her for the last 2 weeks ive had her blisted, which i thought was the best before i lost my temper.

On another note, slow exp parties yesterday apart from the one were the bst spoiled it ><

Hit 67 not to far off 68 now which i was hopin to hit yesterday. Looking forward to movin on from my AF to Thick armor, gonna stick with my hauby though.

On party i was in our fisherman pulled why our nin was cursed from dieing the night before which lead to a entire wipe. Last one allived i flee'd so that i could warp out as our whm had Home pointed, as i flee'd the gob landed bio II on me >< I hit warp and just as i warped i died and stayed in the area. Lucky enough, Bere found me a whm and i got an R2 and a warp bk.

Next party, in Mamook we were fighting Ziz i pulled one but the NM Ziz by mistake >< (We all make mistakes lol) and it wiped us. I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry. R2 and we exp'd good

After all that the bst came along it just tipped me over the edge! ahhhhhh

As for my weekend. As Wedge said earlier, we did a few more Assaults on Friday evening. Failed Seagull Grounded again. This Corsair spent about 10 minutes just not moving despite Tal?s best attempts. Eventually I think we figured out that when he enters the side rooms (that may contain Arrapago Crabs) he waits at the back for a short time. You need to keep a specific distance away from him to let him do whatever he is doing.

Too close and he asks you to back off (and mentions garlic breath strangely). Too far away and he makes a run for it. There also does seem to be a random element to it. Our first attempt he only entered 2 rooms that contained crabs whereas this latest run he entered all 3 containing crabs. Not sure yet if this is indicative of a random escort route or random mob placement.

However we did clear level 2 Leuajeum Sanctum (Orichalcum Survery) which went much better. Not the most exciting Assault by any means but straightforward enough. I think plans were set for more Assaults tomorrow evening with 3 or 4 runs intended if anyone is interested. I think we will be attempting Seagull Grounded again followed by further PFC missions. Clearing Lebros Cavern and Mamool Ja Training Grounds would be nice progress.

Saturday me and Moot tried the new Sunbreeze event, Azimath Circle? II. A lot more interesting than last years as you are teleported out into a zone with mobs, are level restricted to 1 and Sneak and Invisible wears off incredibly quickly. Like last year you and your partner have to help each other find the appropriate checkpoints this time with the danger of aggressive monsters. Dieing does not lose EXP but you have to start over each time. The second version (when you take part after receiving the first Yukata) is also a lot more interesting. End result we both grabbed the 2 new Yukatas which dispense 99 fireworks once a week.

Also did a few more of the Aht Urghan missions. Explored the Alzaadaal Undersea Ruins (very impressive) then received my
