Not sure Rep, I find the official updater works ok now so haven't done it the other way in some time.
I wen't ahead and did the introductions for each city last night, I do think they should just all be linked, one grand company over each city, I'm sure I read there are benefits to do boss battles wiith everyone from the same company, its hard enough just getting enough to do anything, but getting 8 people from the same company is stupid, which leads me to feel kind of pressured to just go with Ul'dah which most will.
Haven't done anymore of the company quests until I know which i'm going with, anyone else know what they are choosing?
I would like to give that 4 man Ifrit battle a go, but then i'm R46 which means I should be doing the 8 person one which i'm sure I'll never get a chance to do, /sigh.

Well they have certainly upped the ante, Ifrit R45 is a mega challenge, not actually done it but have all the lead up quests done, which was a challenge in itself.
Also got my personal chocobo and tried out Caravan Escort which is pretty cool, definetely a good patch.
Gren tried R45 Ifrit last night 10 times and has yet to beat it so it sounds very hard.
Also noticed big changes with the battle system in general, in difficulty and pace, just feels very different.
Now I need to get my head around this Materia system.Last edited by mikewl; 08-10-2011, 14:10.

Must of spent about 8 hours on this yesterday, everytime I thought I was about done for the day something cropped up, ended up doing two toto rak runs and darkhold dezemeal*, man the darkhold dungeon is tough, did not get the clear on that but got some insight on how it works, unfortunately people are using cheap tactics to get through it, instead of fighting through two tanks run ahead training everything while others unlock all doors, it was messy and didn't work too well, but we did get to a boss which wiped the whole party in about 2 minutes, really want to try this with players who want to do it the proper way.Last edited by mikewl; 09-10-2011, 11:18.

Not sure about the rank removal, only a single level system now, I quite enjoyed customising stats. As Wedge said Chocobo speed could do with being higher, it's not a massive step up from running. Airships are handy though, especially since there's no middle area between ports.
Monthly fee begins next month too.

Once you get a personal chocobo the speed is fine, they come in very handy even on leves, kill mobs summon chocobo to next mob etc, cuts down the time back and forth a fair bit.
I don't think they have wiped any characters Kerushi.
There is another low level dunegon I'd like to try sometime, only L15 but could be fun for anyone early in the game.

Just read the design docs'....
they must be flipping mad to start charging for this game a full year before "Ver 2.0", im cancaling right now to make sure im not charged for this half baked turd, i was holding out for the job changes around .20 or .21 but to charge before the major gameplay stuff comes in(after auto attack) is madness. If they had any sense it should just be freeplay and use micro transactions as SE will never get a another FF11(at its peak) again.
I like what im reading for Ver 2.0 but im not paying at least ?120 for the right to be a beta tester and get a moogle warp stick with bells on it at the end. Plus its unlikly to be the same game at all if the engine is changing for ver 2 (how will a ps3 cope with the better looking ver2 if it can't handle the current?).
