    Gauntlet IV Megadrive

Seen this today downtown and briefly considered buying it for a fiver before realising I dont know if it's any good!!
I've played and enjoyed Gauntlet one and two.

Anyone played IV on the Megadrive who can give me an opinion?

Well it's one of the most expensive Japanese Megadrive cartridges I've bought so that should give you an idea of how good it is. Paid well over 16 times what your going to pay for it. (it's called Gauntlet rather then Gauntlet IV for some reason, maybe it's because it is Gauntlet... it's programmed by the Japanese too. )

A multitap is an must have purchase too as are 3 friends (paying them is optional) and 3 Megadrive pads.

      MD.
Is it a top down affair like 1 and 2 or isometric view?
Not that it matters that much if you reckon it's worth a purchase.

Well it's Gauntlet with the original and 3 different varients including a quest mode (which makes it a semi RPG like affair...), just get your dusty wallet out take out a fiver and buy said game.

Buy it now mate! It is the best version of Gauntlet I have ever played. The soundtrack is total quality, I can`t believe the MD is making such beautiful sound and the graphics and gameplay are top-notch.

If you like Gauntlet you have to buy it.

Reasonable? You ripped the poor shop off, you should have forced at least a tenner in the shop keepers hands muttering '?5 is far too cheap for a great game like this, you'll take a tenner and not a penny less'.

Funny enough the bloke in Gamestation said something along the lines of......
'This is cheap at a tenner mate, never mind a fiver. EVEN A TENNER'S CHEAP...I've got this one myself. It's the best version you can get!'
He went on to extol the virtues of Quest mode......
                          and Battle mode

                          /Paid the fiver/got game/exited smartish

                              Portsmouth Kaladron.
Gamestation in Commercial Rd. It's an extremely small shop, but manned by knowledgeable blokies, that is...knowledgeable enough to bag a retro classic BEFORE putting it up for sale to Joe public.

Luckily matey boy already had Gauntlet IV in his personal collection of 70-odd Megadrive games or I'm sure it wouldn't even had made it to the shelf.

Where is Crossgates BTW? Wakefield I presume.

As an aside the same Gamestation has a second-hand slightly tatty (DC) Shenmue II up for ?29.99

                              Shocking.
