Don't use the DIXV player. that thing gives the same results on my PC too but then boots in after 5 seconds. Just use Windows media player and it should work fine unless the archive have cocked up the file some how.

The Retro Core Akihabara Special (filmed in mid September 2005)is now available from FTP and Internet Archive. Basically it's me walking around Akihabara filming in shops hoping not to be caught and visiting arcades. I found a nice place full of clones that may interest a few of you.

Retro Core Volume 14 is now available on DVD with lower resolution XVID downloads coming on Thursday. The DVD version comes with a free special Sega Bonus Video CD

Retro Core's very 1st anniversary volume is finally here !! Retro Core is now 1 year old and still improving with every volume. This month we've started "Game of the Month" feature which will be the main game of the show with extended footage while all other games will be between 3 and 6 minutes long. You may also notice a few new tunes in this anniversary volume (^v^).
Featured this month - Bust-a-Move for PSX, Shien the Blade Chaser for SFC, Splatter House Wanpaku for Famicom, Alisia Dragoon for Mega Drive, Space Channel 5 pt2 for Dreamcast, Astal for Saturn and Kenseiden for Master System. This months ****e Of The Month comes from Bastard for the Super Famicom. Mobile Phone Gaming goes all 2.5D shooting crazy with Burring Fortress and this month the "VS" section is back with a look at the Sharp X68000 and Super Famicom versions of Phalanx. Finally a look at a wonderful Streets of Rage remake for the PC. That's 11 great games for your enjoyment.

Can you shove Volume 13 on archive.org some time soon?

Just downloaded the Akihabara special, looking forward to both this and vol14. However, what happened to Volume 13? Was there one?

Ok, I'm a bit of a latecomer, after only seeing Retro Core (volume 2) today. I've never been able to get them because I'm (still) on dial-up, but manged to sponge off the university connection today and slapped Vol. 2 on my sparkly new USB pen . As late as I am, it can't help to have one more shout of prasie, can it?

I must say it was a very enjoyable piece, and I shall now be downloading the rest of the series as and when I can. Awesome work Yakumo; getting to see games I previously would never have seen otherwise, games that interest me. Keep it up and happy 1st birthday!

Volume 13 was infact the Tokyo Game Show 2005 Special which is on archive.org. There isn't really a "normal" volume 13 as such. Volume 14 should be ready on the archive in a few hours. It's just waiting to be added now.

Oohhh, prasie away my good man Actually volume 2 is pretty lame compared to the later volumes. Check out the main site for info on what's on them - http://www.segagagadomain.com/RetroCorepage-main.htm I think it was from volume 9 or so when I started to do direct video over the use of a video camera. Theres also a pretty funny one where I wreck a PSX. The next poor soul is going to be an original GameBoy

I have to say I enjoyed the virtual walkabout of Akihabara, those shelves though. I'd come away with everything or nothing

Make sure you leave the Gameboy on and with batteries. To do otherwise would be like killing it in it's sleep.

                              Retrocore rocks man.

Don't worry mate ! It will be running the cheapest game I can find. The actual gameboy will cost me about 50 pence so the game will probably be more than the hardware I'm going to kick it down those stairs that the PlayStation went down, then run it over with the car. Any other ideas guys? I thought about puting it on the train track but what if the train de-railed? So that idea went right out the window
