If I got a Wondermega the first thing I'd do is RGB mod it. I don't care how good the s-video is.

My recent items from the last month.

While this isn't the best version of the game I had it before and wanted it again. It does play well all things considered.

Huge PSP purge. Someone had obviously traded them all in at CEX.

              This little gem today.

Whats the sound quality like on the multi mega/cdx? Is it more like mcd1 or 2?

There was a switched one for sale a while back on console passion, i was so close to pulling the trigger on that.

Also anyone know where i can get an RGB modded SFC jr?

Sorry but the S-video out on a Wondermega isn't that great and the composite is ****. Not as bad as a Mega Drive 1 but still not great and on a modern TV they look worse. In the last 10 years I've owned 5 Wondermega systems. Probably more than anyone else here and I can honestly say that they all had poor video out due to no RGB as standard. If a Wondermega was modded to RGB it would look fantastic. My Mega Drive 1 running on my modern TV via RGB looks a million times better than any Wondermega. Just look at the image below for proof of that. No colour bleeding at all. Click on the image to see the larger size.

I love the Wondermega and truly wish it had RGB out as standard because if it did I'd have one hooked up to my TV at all times but since it needs a mod which I can't do I keep selling them on

The S-Video is really nice and Pin sharp and the AV is no worse than that from most other consoles ; Of course nothing beats RGB for these old consoles, but the S-Video is really nice and woks far better for FMV games imo - Where the Scart really shows up the grain of the FMV compared to playing them through S-Video or AV . Also the sound that comes for the Wonder mega is to this day utterly brilliant and helps makes up for the lack of RBG

I love the system - I only wished the Mega Cart worked with every game on the system

The video for S-Video is more that decent imo

Model 1 is the way to go imo. Not only is the RGB Scart output from the Mark 1 Mega Drive one of the best out of any console . With the Model 1 setup on the Mega CD you not only get the best audio through the Mega CD outs, but you can also control the volume of the FM sound being mixed in with the Mega CD on Mega CD games .

That's because the video quality isn't as good. You can't say it's pin sharp when you've just said yourself FMV looks "better" because it doesn't show the grain. The reason for that is because the image is NOT pin sharp but blended. Don't get me wrong, S-Video is a million times better than composite and I have to run my Dreamcast in S-Video or VGA due to having no official RGB cable for it over here so I have nothing against it. But to say it's pin sharp just isn't true. It's very nice and the next best solution after RGB for none HD consoles that's true.

AV is what I like to play the FMV games in, even the S-Video shows up the grain more than usual (trouble with MD Modle 1 RBG scart is it looks almost too bright and vibrant for certain games) , but the output of the S-Video I'm more than happy with . I say its Pin sharp because that's what it is get a really good S-Video picture off my old 32 ' Philips when playing the DC or Wonder Mega.

I may be the only one , but never liked the RGB ouput from the DC is seemed to mess up the colour's

The cdx is something i'd like as a small all-in-one soultion, just wanted to know how it stacks up in its audio/video against other md's.

Is it worse than md 1? better than md2? mcd1/mcd2 etc?

The trouble with it is lacks the L/R output jacks that you get on the Mega CD1 and 2 . So you either have to output sound through the AV out or use the Headphone jack - which isn't quite has good imo, but more than good enough to be honest and I love my Multi Mega and use it the most these days as it takes up less room.

With regards to audio, is the Wondermega the best or the MCD1? I mean for options, quality and different outputs.
