Is yours a genuine japanese system (I'm also searching for an NTSC-J one)?

I ask you because I read that on the japanese MD's circular molding, in purple, is the text "AV Intelligent Terminal High Grade Multipurpose Use", and that there's an ASIAN Sega MegaDrive 1 (variant to european one) with no text printed around the molding, often mistaken for a japanese system.

Could you confirm that your model is NTSC 'for Japan Only'?

Yes, this is true.
Also, I've seen a boxed asian MD with a large 'Asian Version' sticker...

But I read more than once about that purple text in the molding.

it was ?65 shipped on its own and i ended up buying 7 games from son_of_bael for a modest price so after a wee discount i reckon i got it for ?55 if you split the whole thing up

As for how it plays. A lot of people don't like it, but I really do. It has a 2d feel but is a 3d fighter, with some pretty cool moves. Rolento's Chopper attack is great fun.

no ram cart i'm afraid and the last one i saw on ebay sold for ?70 and every other that has been on ebay normally has a bin of well over ?100 - some ?200 for some reason

I'm pretty sure it's a proper Japanese model, but I won't know for certain untill it arrives. The Asian systems I've seen usually have a sticker on the box - like this
