You ever played the Western version of Ace Combat 3? You can see just how gutted that game was now. One of my favourite 32bit games

Anyway, they removed all the interesting stuff - like the branching missions and almost all the plot.

Just been playing it. I no longer have a SNES, but I can tell it doesn't look or sound as good. It looks great, and the music is actually pretty decent, but it has less colours and features awful samples for speech and effects. ("Nnnzz..HADO-fffzz-KEN!..bzzzrt") Gameplay is spot-on though. If anything it's even better than the SNES in that department since the 6-button pad is so great.

Killing Game Show - excellent Roger Dean artwork on that one.

And yeah, SSF2 on the MD totally owns the SNES version.

Erm, no... that's not the point, or is it? It was cheap, got it to play.

Those two posts sum up retro gaming for me - there's the people who 'collect' and the people who 'play'. I know which side I'm on.

What's the point in collecting if you never play...?

I can see both sides of the coin myself, nowerdays i collect more than i play because i just dont have the time to play, but i still take pleasure in just owning the games i collect. People dont say to stamp collecters "why dont you lick those and stick'em on an enverlope"!

That's a very good point, but I feel that games are different. But then I suppose you're going to get people who like the buzz of collection with any hobby.

Why not do both? The trick is not to collect **** just for the sake of having it. The other thing is, if you want to play a game, don't miss out on it just because a free sticker or some bollocks is missing.

well you could get a sealed one for collection and minty copy for playing...
this particular title is dirt cheap in Japan
