Sonic Council is a strange one - what do you think of it?

TBH I haven't got round to playing on it properly yet as Stellar Assault SS took up all of the limited playing time I had last night.

I've just fired it up quickly and what I've experienced so far was encouraging. I thought the characters were solid enough and the effects were well done especially the sonic waves. Gameplay wise I found the moves were fairly easy to pull off and blocking was a definite requirement. I just need to figure out the combos and specials, so I'll likely spend a bit of time in the practice mode before I start the storymode proper.

Well it was really down to watching the gameplay footage in RetroCore vol 17, after seeing it I decided that it would be worth adding to my wants list.

is the stellar assault complete with sticker

No, just a spinecard, registration card and the game disc which is absolutely flawless.

Before settling on that copy, there was a complete stellar Assault SS available to buy from another source for ?83.00. On further enquiries the disc had some surface scratches and the spine card scuffed and taped on the reverse, which was enough to put me off.

I've seen that I can buy a sticker from VGI to make the set complete, but for now it's not a priority.

Since all the import love seems to be Japan-wards I thought I'd big up the US. Collected these lovelies over the last couple months. The SNES Pad looks horrible but I have a more minty one in my cupboard.

Love the mini snes collection there. Some great, great games.

Got a snes jr myself last week to turn into a portable snes + picked up a NTSC PSone 5" screen to attach to it.

It's a good project, but not something I'd do again once I've finished. It's frickin hard work (and i'm upto ?100 in costs). So far I have the custom controller boards connected and working... the screen, speakers + running off a battery are next. benheck.com was my inspiration (of 360 laptop fame).

May I ask why you have put the buttons near the top of the unit? Wouldn't it be more comfortable with them near the bottom? Still, hat off to you for taking on such a job plus it's great to see a Japanese design rather than the ugly looking blocks Mr Ben Heck (Genius that he is but has no idea of design) makes.

I have to start sending some boxes back to Europe, by boat it's 7000Yen for 10 kilo, so that's not too bad. Game hunting in Japan is becoming my favourite hobby. Maybe you heard about that very remote shop an hour from Chiba on the Neo forums? I went there, spend 8 hours in a train just to visit one shop
