Well, it's possible to get one a bit cheaper but you have to be patient / lucky to get one for less than ?60-?70. Since you got a bunch of fairly decent games with it, and a scart lead then I'd say you weren't ripped off.

Boxed they fetch a lot more. I sold one for a bit under ?200 boxed a while back. And I sold off a monster MD/MCD collection including a boxed Multimega for ?500 a few years before (there were some kickass games with it, inc. Yu Yu Hakushu, Mega Man, Alien Soldier etc). Bought a digital camera with the proceeds. That camera would probably now cost ?80 or so new

I think one went for about ?50+ recently.

I paid ?20 for mine years ago from Another World in Leicester, and sold it for about ?15 at CEX not long after.

I can't tell you how many times I've done the same kind of thing

Sweet! Well I paid a very fair price for mine off Yakumo, I think it might be the Sega Direct version not sure..

Wanted a Multimega ever since I was a kid, I can even remember how the poster advertising it in the shops looked like. Chuffed to bits, although I don't know if I paid through the nose or not for it.
Awesome. The closest I ever got to a Multimega was at a car boot, it was boxed and mint, unfortunately in someone elses hands being carried to their stash of goodies.. I bet they paid ?10 for it as well. Oh and I saw one in Gamestation a couple of times for about ?149.99 loose.

Hadn't really heard of the multimega until I saw some collector from Manchester on NorthWest tonight a few month back.. he said it was his rarest console etc etc

TBH, they're not especially rare - if you want one they're frequently up on eBay, but getting one cheap can be quite a waiting game. I've never paid more than £50 for a loose one though. I think I paid around £100 for the first boxed one I had, but I reckon you'd be very lucky to get a boxed one for that much on Ebay now.

In the wild I don't doubt that they are very few and far between though. Never seen one beyond the odd £149er in Gamestation

They're extremely slinky though - prob. my favourite console of all time. Perfect in size and design - in fact if you sit it next to any of the current gen consoles it out-classes them by a mile in design terms. Plus with one of these and the right accessories you can play MD, MCD, 32X and MS games. One of these and a Saturn and all my gaming needs are satisfied!

I prefer the Wondermega myself. There was no JPN CDX was there?
              Kept you waiting, huh?

                No. Just an Asian one.

Glorious! Paid up for a near pristine 6 button pad. I *had* to get a blue start button one like I had way back, the red button ones stink of Megadrive II and are thus bad.

Also picked up an Arcade power stick for tuppence (virtually). Tho alas after being spoiled by modern sticks it isn't quite up to scratch. Certainly usable though, after being stripped down and thoroughly cleaned and *ahem* lubed.

Ah, in fact there is a Japanese one but get this, it wasn't released by Sega or called the Multimega or CDX. It was released by Benesse as an education tool in very small numbers. I can't recall the name at the moment but I'm sure I have a picture of it on the HD at home. I remember it reaching around 180'000 yen on Yahoo auctions last year ! Maybe searching Google for any Benesse multimedia devices may bring something up. Mind you you'd probably have to search in Japanese.

Looks like the Western, non-microswitched one...shame, the Japanese one is much better, in a 'clicky' kinda way.

I still have my Japanese power stick and it's as lovely today as it was in 1989 when I got it! Although it's been dropped a fair few times...

Ooh, must have missed that. If you find the piccies send em over mate, would love to see that. A quick google brings up nothing but I'll look properly later.

Yup, no microswitches, just little rubbery contacts. The 6 button pad tho? Absolutely amazing... The most comfortable and responsive pad ever!

Long time since I put a piccie up so here are some of my more recent buys (aside from lots of NOS homecarts from a certain ebay seller lol).

First up some nice guide books. I've got 3 different Princess Crown ones now, love that game so much. The Drac Rondo is gorgeous too and damn pricey.

Next up a brand new VF Mini GG LE. Bad fade on the front but can't complain about a freebie!

Next up some flyers. Man can these be hard to find. The top 3 are Towns/Marty, the bottom 2 MD/Tengen. The Tengen one is very interesting though as it has Rampart (great game) on the front, but on the back....

...it has shots of 4 unreleased pce games..Marble Madness, Off the Wall, Peter Packrat and Popils!

Next up a sealed Eyeful Home (an open house demo for the saturn). Never seen another sealed copy ever and it completes my personal grail trifecta of sealed Delisoba, sealed Waltx and sealed Eyeful (those being the 'big' three in terms of saturn demos)

And then some Marty/Towns goodies of course. A bit of filler (Dungeon Masters), a couple of upgrades (Indy 3 for the phonecard and Legends for the fd sticker), Ving and the great Megalomania (very chuffed to have the complete big box finally).

And then finally MI2 and Ultima VI which complete my Marty Lucasfilm set (aside variants - so MI 1 and 2, Indy 3 and 4, Zak and Loom) and Marty Ultima set (Trilogy, 4, 5, 6, Underworld 1 and 2). Very happy is I.

They look really great Wheelaa, I'm glad you found a sealed copy of Eyeful Home. (^_^)

What do you have left to collect for Sega Saturn now? It must be the Enemy Zero Limited Box. (^_^)

I have to collect the Castlevania book too. Thanks for sharing!
