Isn't the gold Yam Yam cart the rarest, I'm fairly certain it was one of a kind, well until someone made a fake anyway.

Isn't that game still on cards on whether its a fake or not??

It should come with a piece of hand drawn artwork as well I believe, the fact that the one in that pic also came from Thailand doesn't do it any favours to confirm it's genuine. I think there was a thread over on Assembler which confirmed it was fake.

Interesting, I've never looked into the rarest SFC games too deeply, just read bits here and there and last I heard Kunio-Kun Dodgeball gold cart was the rarest.

I did vaguely remember reading about the Yam Yam gold cart but my foggy recollection was that it was a fake, but just read up on it and as you say it was one of a kind, a competion prize and a fake was made in Thailand.

Yeah I think the guy who was selling it had quite a few other gold carts as well, other than his game auctions I also vaguely recall him selling gold plated jewellery as well which is enough to set alarm bells ringing.

Wait yestergames is buying import SNES/SFC games now?! What happened to the PAL collection?

I think Yam Yam Gold Cassette is most rarest. I think too Lethal Enforcers Special Version is maybe second rarest, but also their is others like Super Famicom Aging Cassette, SF Memory Hot Campaign Present, Shinseiki Odysselya <Campaign You Sample Cassette>, I think much rarer than the others mentioned.

I think for Yoshi no Cookie: Kuruppon Oven de Cookie, it is very expensive.

But Rendering Ranger R2 is by far not the rarest game. ^_^

Nice little debate I seem to have started here

I see a couple of you have made statements like 'Rendering Ranger R2 is by far not the rarest game' I think this is a overreaction, Maybe it's not the Rarest but to say 'by far'??? If id did not go in the top 10 rarest I'd be very surprised.

The games some of you have mentioned are not official Retail releases, Games given away or won should go in a different catigory IMO

Don't worry Ouenben, I'm still working on the PAL collection. Up to about 450 now!!!

Shall I say what everyone else is thinking? Start waving your willy about and people will shoot you down quicker than you can say 'Yoshi no Kurupon Oven de Cookie'.

Don't take it to heart mate - just enjoy the game for what it is and even though it might not be the rarest SFC game it's minty-mint and like you said is a decent game in its own right.

Asking Nintastic to give you a valuation on it makes it look like you're unsure you paid the right price for it? It looks like it's the one from VGI, which was ?299. Personally i know hee-haw about the prices of SFC games, so i have no idea if thats the going rate, but for the sake of the conversation thats going on i'd be interested to know?

lol you guys crack me up sometimes, I'll have to wave my megaman 'willy' wars next time

Or maybe one day i'll get hold of a one of these

Or the Nintendo Campus Challenge cartridge !!!!!!!! and then get miyamoto to sign it with his own blood! lol

I paid £260 for my Rendering Ranger which I think is a very good deal - I only asked nintastic what he thinks it's worth as a matter of interest.

I will indeed enjoy this fun little game for what it is and i'm sure it will only increase in value (not that i'd ever want to sell it!)

In all honesty I guessed what the reaction would be when I put that post but still think some of you have overreacted in your seeming damnation of RR's rarity - Sure those other games you mentioned may be rarer but they are not all official retail releases.

I don't profess to be all that knowledgeable on SFC games - so I'm always happy to be educated - so thanks for your replies guys.
When it comes to PAL SNES games on the other hand maybe I can teach a thing or two myself!

What are the rarest 10 offical retail releases on SFC then?

A like-new Sega Mega Drive console for only $25 includes all baggies, paper work etc etc

The Gamecube games were from a bulk lot, but they're auctually doubles. No manuals though up for trade if anyone wants them.

I think it wasn't like that, or meant to be (the shoot him down thing).

He said "Have I just acquired the rarest SNES / Super Famicom game money can buy?!"

Then the reply's said no, but I think that's not shooting him down or anything.
