Is the PS1 Wild Ambition the same as the Hyper64 version, I remember reading somewhere that it's different?

    Comment

Galaxy Fight was released on PS1 too, but it's pants. Last Blade 1 got a Jap release, but I'd assume it was a lousy conversion like with the Sam Sho Fencing pack, and Sam Sho 3.

God all those Capcom "vs" games are so confusing, makes my head spin.

I have no idea. But apparently it is an absolute dog. Avoid!

I just found and brought a factory sealed What's Shenmue for Jap DC for 105 yen. Does anyone know what it is worth in the real world? Cheers.

If so that's a bit of bargain as I've seen them go for ?40+.

Although there seem to be a fair few on eBay for less than that... not sealed though.

Depends if its the standard blue cover version or the Yellow Famitsu version.

Blue typically goes for around ?15-20.
                  Yellow can fetch ?40-80.

Can be had for about 6 or 7 quid. My copy is in crap condition - how much is this one? May be interested myself! Not a bad game either to be fair.

Regarding Capcom Vs SNK Pro I haven't played the PS1 version but surely the DC version would be a better buy

It's not in the greatest condition, it's out for ?6.

Admittedly I own pretty much every other iteration of Capcom Vs SNK but this is slightly different to the first game, isn't it? It's been tweaked a bit and such?

DC is a better buy. Sprites look better imo, and loading times are better, plus no PS1 pad = a better experience imo.
I only have the PS1 version because the disk has become rather scratched, plays, but not worth selling

I'm sure somebody will come along and tell me that there's loads of differences between Capcom Vs SNK and Capcom Vs SNK Pro but as far as I could make out it's basically Capcom Vs SNK with all the unlockables available from the start and possibly an extra character or two. There's a Japanese DC version btw, which would be a better purchase than the PS1 release if you decide that you must have the game.

CvS Pro has Dan and Joe as playable characters. Hence them taking pride of place on the Japanese DC cover.

Other than that, it's exactly the same game, with all the characters/backgrounds/etc unlocked. This is handy as unlocking all the extras on the original CvS (Jap DC) was a nightmare, you had to rack up loads of points (linking up the NeoGeo Pocket version of the game helped, but only a little). I gave up and bought Pro instead.

And Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition is a conversion of the (dire) Hyper 64 game.

There is actually more to Pro than the addition of 2 extra characters and all unlockables available from the start, but we're talking more of the usual Capcom tweaks/balance issues to the system that you would likely only notice if you spent hours and hours playing one then comparing it to the other.

There's a decent FAQ over at GameFAQs that detail the changes if anyone's interested.
