Originally posted by monomaniacpat View PostMade a bit of a trek to a game shop I heard about on YouTube today. And, to my great surprise I actually bought something! I was hoping to find some US N64 games, but was just going for a browse really. I was flicking through all the PSone games and came across one sorry box facing the wrong way. I almost didn't bother looking, but I just so happened to and to my utter astonishment it contained a copy of Twisted Metal World Tour! I have looked for this game in every shop I have visited for at least five years and now it's finally mine!
Not in great nick, but it was only ?3, so why not? I also managed to find a copy of Dynamite Headdy in not too shabby a condition and a replacement PS2. One that, strangely enough wasn't listed on my version guide off eBay ? 75003, but I correctly guessed from the sequence that it was probably a v14 ? which was the minimum I was looking for to replace my borked v12.
Not bad at all.
Interestingly they did have a couple of US N64 games, but unfortunately for me they were both second rate 3D beat 'em ups.
I sold it on a long time ago so who knows, that could be the same one!

It has a yellow sticker on the back that reads:
"THE GAMES EXCHANGE, Unit 48, Carlisle Market. We buy/sell/exchange all games and consoles for PSX, N64, Megadrive, SNES."
I often wonder when looking at retro games in shops whether I've ever flicked past a copy I used to own. The cover was all cut up with scissors in order to fit the crappy case, and it's missing one of the spines, which was torn off along the scored line.
EDIT: here's a scan:

Got these three little beauties today. All pretty much mint apart from the Silicon Valley manual, which is a little dog-eared.
Turned them on this morning just to check they worked and was totally blown away by the graphics in Turok 2. Seriously, that opening cut-scene could be a PS2 game; hope the in-game graphics are the same.
Thought I'd better start my Turok sesh with the first game. The controls are... Interesting. I like the way they apologise up front about this in the manual. They definitely work OK, but it feels back to front. I know some people prefer it this way, but to me it is alien. At least the camera is inverted – as it should be.
You might have guessed from my recent wants thread that I was desperate to play some second-rate (by today's standards), out-dated, first-person shooters.

It's a just hideous mess of a game, that GoldenEye and Perfect Dark render inconsequential, really. God only knows what sums of marketing money was being pushed down the throats of reviewers at the time.
If anything, stick to Turok 1, which is a far better gameOh, and Space Station Silicon Valley is excellent!

Picked up a lovely pink gb micro from here for ?18, now i can enjoy micro goodness without having to worry about my famicom one getting damaged. On the plus side the pink colour is really nice in the flesh, sort of a metallic sheen & not barbie pink as i was expecting.
Been replaying my gba stuff this weekend, pyuu to fuku is currently in there
