I have a SFZ3 you can borrow as well that rarely gets used Neil, a couple of loaners will let you get straight in to the fun when you finally get your cab. I know it's been a long time coming!

Aw man that would be sweet I love Alpha 3 more than any of the others (3rd Strike being an exception but it feels like a totally different game to me) it's the most played one on my Generations collection on the PS2.

Cotton is lovely, better than the PCE version I'd say. It's been interesting making comparisons with the games, SFC twinbee tops PCE, PCE bomberman '94 tops super famicom versions etc. I suppose that's the nice thing about having all four 16-Bit era systems at the same time, which I never have before.

Is Axelay any good? Mate of mine really rates it (and the music) but I've never played it.

It is over rated in my opinion and very dull compared to something like Ketsui or Espgaluda, I bought it when it came out and it did look very good for the time. If you want to try it I have a JPN version you could buy.
