First one i've had since the PAL launch model i bought and sold to charlies game up in newcastle.I just don't like the black look full stop .But tomorrow, genkivideogames is going to be a bit more empty of saturn software ,a lot of the titles are some corkers i never new existed on the system ,having never seen a release over here, that's a lot of triple As.

Or i can spend it all on one overpriced, very common game, over on videogameimports

You should check out my Saturn store. Cheaper than Genkivideogames even - http://www.segagagadomain.com/store/the-store.htm

Not exactly a retro piece of kit, but will soon have this running my retro consoles on my LCD with a RGB scart socket input and the option of having scanlines or not on the VGA output.

Are you having to mod it yourself for scart hellbelly? Where did you pick it up, and are you using one of those German doofers for the scan lines?

Yep, modding it myself for RGB Scart input. Only found out about it recently via YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWNmwo9fb_A and then details of a cheapo DIY Scanline Generator, more details here - http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/ot...-scanlines.htm (if I had the cash, I'd buy that SLG3000 German Doofer to try out and compare, it does have a lot more features/adjustments).

This upscaler has 2 VGA outputs, one can be modded to output with Scanlines quite easily, without having to solder up any VGA sockets, just have to wire in the little dinky circuit board to a row of contacts.

Had a quick go this evening, and got my SFC up and running on my LCD monitor, so far so good

When I get time I need to investigate if it works with Composite Video for the Sync signal, or if it only works if the Sync signal is stripped out. Hopefully get time over the next few days.

edit - oh, should have said, ebay from Taiwan - about ?25 for the upscaler board, then roughly around ?5 in parts, and then to find a box to mount it in.

edit again! is the chap from teh youtube vid a member here?

Nice, I've got one of those on the way to replace the CGA to VGA upscaler I currently have. I plan to use it with my SLG3000: http://retro.nintendolife.com/news/2...n_of_scanlines

                      Digitalsystemsdesign sell them.

And i believe fagin mentions that you have to supply it csync or strip it from cvid with the lm1881.Fagin's video about it even made it onto http://uk.kotaku.com/

mmmonkey ,if it's correct that the sync circuit is need, just whack it into a multi scart switching box ,modify the plug ,so you can connect it up to the cga to vga and that's all your rgb consoles sorted. Then get some 5/10mm tinted acrylic ,tap some m3 threads ,get some m3 panhead screws and a few metal spacers and you have a nice base for the cga to vga .

Sega-16 was hacked,so it's offline ,so the back up of the saturn euro/ntsc you hosted came in handy today.I've updated the post that's also on gameSx,with my VA 11 board, which needs modding with a small couple of changes to the original method.

That looks excellent Hellbelly. Someone starts to need making these for sale, I love having all my retro gear through my cab, but it would be nice to game in the living room on the plasma now and again. 60" Garou would be awesome............

I'm actually using that IM1881 cable you made for me for that Commodore 1084 monitor to connect up my SCART-based consoles. I've got a DB9 to DB15 cable which links up to my current CGA to VGA upscaler, and then I run the VGA connection through the SLG3000 and into my LCD TV. Works great, although my current upscaler gives a bit of a washed-out picture because it's not doing true RGB as far as I can tell - hopefully the new one will solve that

This is gun I like. You can read about my experience with it here:

Super bit of kit! Also the videos on here:

I recorded from the board to a VGA capture box.

Damn, I'm out and about and can't read all that at the mo, thanks for all the info though, looks very promising :-) I've got the sync circuit built already, so will pop it in later

If I could find a supplier for the 12pin header on the near the VGA socket, it would be easy to supply plug and play cheapo scanline kit for this!
