Yeah, Italy is terrible when it comes to sending stuff there. I'll only sent items registered post as out of all the places I've shipped to, Italy is the only one where parcels have gone AWOL.

It's not even all that much more expensive than registered postage anymore (cos yeah, fees went higher and higher too).
Man, it's really kind of embarrassing.

I do miss those giant boxes that PC and Amiga games used to come in. Proper manuals, 'feelies' and all the rest. I totally understand for shop shelving reasons why everything is in DVD cases these days, but a bit of the magic is definitely lost.
At one time I remember thinking it might be fun to try and do some sort of repository for all the story novellas that used to come with games. Everyone remembers the ones with Elite and Frontier: Elite 2. But there were some awesome ones that people forget about, like the one that came with Hired Guns, and the truly insane Mel Croucher poetic verse thing they had in with Castle Master.
