Oh man, so jealous of that nice MD2 + MCD2 combo...

I'm trying hard to get a japanese/boxed/in collector's condition Megadrive 2 and also a Mega-CD 2, but apparently I'm at a dead end... Here in Italy it's kind of impossible to find a mint console, and when they are barely in a good shape they come out incredibly overpriced.
Ordering abroad is tempting but shipping and customs make me feel kind of worried.

Any clues? ^^

@Galdelico - what is it with Italy and ordering from abroad? I see a lot of eBay auctions that either refuse to ship there, or charge a lot extra?

Well with customs the standard practice is for the seller to mark it down, although this is obviously at buyer's risk should it go missing. I understand Italian post is notorious.

I think it's a lethal combination of our Posts' legendary malfunctions (Pat is so right... It's not the same everywhere, but there are areas where the service is definitely hideous) and our attitude to behave like morons with honest sellers, when it comes to deal with customs fees (which, again, seem to work kind of randomly here).

I'm an Italian collector and unfortunately i must confirm that Italian posts are the real s**t, full of thieves and malfunctions. I completely understand when sellers don't want to ship there, in the last 3 months i had 4 parcels missing (on a total of 12), that's not tolerable in 2011.
Collecting should be a pleasure, not a pain......

That is not good to hear. Just ordered a game from Italy but it did arrive ok but my friends game hasn't yet.

I had noticed a lot of retro stores will not ship to Italy. Is the government trying to sort the problem out?

I've always thought Strider on the western boxart looks like Gary Barlow.
