I've always thought about getting into Neo Geo. a lot of the Older home cartridges can be had for next to nothing in Japan but then you become hooked and we all know where that takes you in the world of Neo Geo. Yep, straight to the poor house.

I've had a AES for a around 6 years now, and I have manged to build up a pretty cool collection without spending crazy money. Granted I don't have any of the Metal Slugs etc, but I have a lot of the games I used to play in the arcades like the early king of the fighters titles, samurai shodown, sengoku 1&2, and a bunch of others.

All this AES and CD stuff makes me so gutted I had to sell all mine. I had Big Tournament Golf (with a sun faded cover), Pulstar (made from an MVS cart for the AES - although I purchased it from Videogameimports like it was an original just missing cart sticker), Shocktroopers 2nd Squad, Last Resort, Metal Slug 3, Viewpoint among others. I really enjoyed Shocktroopers 2nd Squad even though a lot don't. I could never afford that lot again though I reckon.

On CD I had a fair few titles for too and tbh preferred Neo Turfmasters on CD. This thread makes me so envious and then I realise I still own a truck load of stuff just no Neo stuff anymore.

Keep up the great posts all.

After a few weeks of waiting my full MAME set finally turned up, pointless posting a pic of 45+ dvd r disks but my god it's a crapton of data i'm glad i didn't have to download 300+ gig of data. Shall enjoy the weekend exploring the games on there.

Picked this up off Yahoo auctions for 2000 yen. The Japanese version is becoming quite a rarity.

I just love this game. Yeah, I know it's not as good as the Saturn version but it's still very playable and I never get tired of listening to the announcer in this game... "Shinkuu-Tatsumaki-Senpuu-Kyaku!!!!"

Finally my retro emulation is more authentic, i can now play speccy & amiga & electron with something other than a snes pad. Feels really nice stick is really solid & fully microswitched including the buttons, very short travel too. Checked on the windows control panel & all the buttons are separate so thats all games covered Comes with some form of C64 emulator on a disk with 99 games not tried it out but may do later.

I played it loads in the day, it was utterly dire! So much slowdown and EX moves lasted for ages!

After much testing out of speccy emulators i finally caved in & bought spectaculator it isn't cheap at ?20 but it certainly is the most impressive & feature filled. Hell it can even emulate god awful RF ariel input if i want super authentic, tis awesome lol

One of these might round out the Speccy emulation nicely... thinking about picking one up for when I establish my dedicated emu box later this year.

Are those video cards that aid arcade emulation any good? I forget the names, but has anyone got one?

Is that an RGB scart to VGA upscaler/scanline generating doofer? If so, it's the tidiest i've seen, who makes it?

Arcadeforge, but it's a VGA > SCART converter so you can play emulators on your CRT TV.

Neat. My new laptop packs a punch so that might be worth looking into for some 3s action.

Does the UMSA actually add scanlines, like the SLG3000? Or is it just a converter?

That device just upscales 15KHz RGB signal into 31KHz, nothing more.
