Awesome, how much did Night Raid cost you?

And its a joy to see MvC on this page... I always remember getting the DC one for Xmas one year. I played it on and off for a solid 20 hours on Christmas Day and could see the game on my eyelids as I attempted to sleep.

I second MvC, I don't even like fighting games, but I sure as hell sunk a lot of time into the PS1 port.

$7 each for the PS2 games.
$10 each for the PS1 games.
$10 each for the Xbox games.
$5 each for the PC games.
$5 for the Genesis cart holder.

I also scored a mint complete copy of Shanghai for the Gameboy for $7.

Ive not seen one of those Gen/MD Cart holders boxed before!
As cool as it is, its a shame it encourages you to not use the original cases... Might explain the unboxed MD games despite having a tough protective case.

Got some point and clickers from a charity shop yesterday, not too shabby for £3. Now all I need is an Amiga.

Class. I set my Amiga stuff up again the other week, figure I'll post the picture of my attic-recovery. Oh MI2 was a good deal for £3. That goes for about £10-15 at least on eBay

That is a beautiful set up. The ****ty beige plastic and hideously yellowed disk drive are a work of art to me. I don't know anything at all about Amigas though, are they just an evolution of the commodore? The C64 was the last computer I had before moving to consoles. As I imagine it the higher the number after the word 'Amiga', the more powerful it is, and they're all backwards compatible with the older games , is that right? How much are they to get nowadays, does anyone know?

Amiga was pretty much an entirely different beast compared to the C64 (considerably more powerful for a start). I only had a brief experience with them though personally. The 1200 is probably the better machine to get hold of - more RAM than the 500/600, faster, and even lets you toggle PAL/NTSC format in the system menu (although some games will force 50hz unfortunately).

The Amiga machines relied heavily on custom chips, which gave them a significant edge in graphics and sound over similar-spec rival machines. Amigas using 'Video Toaster' software were used to produce everything from weather reports to the CGI sequences in the series Babylon 5 amongst others, such were their graphical capabilities.

The 500 was the basic model, the 500+ had 1Mb of RAM installed (the 500 could be upgraded for this BTW) and the 600 was released late into the 500s life and is a cheaper, smaller version of the 500 with 1MB RAM.

The 1200 was a more 'serious' machine with higher specs. Barely any games made use of that as far as I can recall, and I think the 1200 also had some compatability issues with certain 500 games. The other machines were mainly intended as office machines and in fact are quite similar to PCs in most respects (tower / desktop cases, swappable CPU and other components etc).

Yeah my A500 is upgraded. It has 4mb Fast RAM and 1mb Reg. Got an extra floppy drive (helps with monkey island 2 ) I have an A600 too with a HDD. Been meaning to pick up an A1200 at some point so I can use WHDload.

That 1084s monitor is superb for older games, I have my Megadrive and SNES plugged into it as well and its much better than running it through a TV.

Oh as for the price, an A600 you could pick up for £15 on eBay easily. An A500 probably for not much more, the A1200s though usually go for about £30-40 at least. All of these Amigas are heavily moddable in terms of processor/ram setups and that will bulk the price up majorly.

Well worth picking one up though, I still use mine now and then as a music tracker, and obv. the odd gaming session now and then of Rainbow Islands/Elite/Stunt Car Racer/Wings of Fury/the list goes on

@garrz32, NightRaid is ace, been playing it a lot on my PS3 recently, love the crazy billion and quintillion scores you get in Takumi shooters. Only thing I don't like about NightRaid is you can't pause it.
