Both are Japanese in the sense that they were both made for sale in Japan and run the exact same games. The one that SegaMark bought was Japan ONLY and cost more than the one you bought which was also sold in some other parts of Asia.

Thanks. I haven't bought one though - not since 1989 that is...!

Recently bought Super Robot Taisen Compact Color 3 for the Wonderswan Crystal from an Italian gameshop.

I've been searching everywhere for this and they are even asking for silly money for it on Yahoo auctions. I've only got one left now for a full set of SRW.

The only snag is that its the NES classic re-release on the GBA that Nintendo only gave away to the first 3000 people who bought SRW GC and registered it.

I'll be lucky if I ever find that because I've never even seen it on Yahoo in all the time I've looking for SRW games. I may just have to go to Japan and mug some Super robot fan for it.

I've seen one on eBay in my time, and they were asking silly money for it. I mean really silly money for it. If one appears again for something a bit more reasonable, expect competition

AdamJW: Was that controller you posted pics up of before any good?

And JAP games in an Italian gameshop, they obviously get it better than us.

I never saw any games shops, but their arcades certainly piss all over ours

Yes its pretty good once you get used to it. There's a single button soft rest which is usually a combination of buttons on the normal pad and that makes life much easier. Also it makes it much quicker for selecting units and menu navigation is much quicker.

It does take a bit of getting used to though, but on the whole its another pretty decent bit of kit from hori. Its pretty good for Disgaea and it works on the PS1. The only snag is the wire is a bit short, but thats easily solved.

I think that italian shop was an online thing only anyway, but there is quite a good selection of stuff. From Imports to just normal European release stuff. Also ranging from import PS3 to Wonderswan and alot of others inbetween. All I did was Email on the off chance after finding the game for sale there after much searching and they were really pleasant to deal with to.

Saying that though Super Robots are alot bigger in Italy than they are here anyway. Alot of the 70s Super Robot animes were translated to Italian before English and in some cases only Italian translations were made. Its all due to SRW being that bit more popular over there. They've always been big on 'Kotatsu(steel)Jeeg' over there.

You can see the sites still for the Gundam games. The one you look for was only 2000 and the other one I think was too. For myself I believe they are quite high numbers for present games, sometimes Capcom and Sony ones are just a few hundred. The Gundam ones come up on Yahoo quite a bit but sometimes sellers wan't to much for them.

They are quite high numbers, but the snag was that it was never available to just buy anywhere. The only way for anyone outside club nintendo in Japan to get it was to use the registration card in the 2004 Gamecube version of SRW. You either had to be one of the first 2000 people to register to get a copy. Thats why its expensive and rarely comes up because its already in the hands of those first 2000.

It came out in 2004 and hasn't been on Yahoo for the last 8/9 months maybe longer. Its never been on Ebay for the past 2 years and it only came out in 2004. It may have been on before that, but it will always be expensive and its a bit obvious, but its always going to be a highly sought after item to fans. If you've got a copy already you are extremely fortunate.

The majority of those who did get it though would have been fans already, so they are just reluctant to part with it. Hence highly inflated prices. I mean even the one I bought most recently has had an asking price in the 25000+yen bracket, and the one you've kindly found the pics of is much more sought after because of how it was made available.

Are you 100% sure it wasn't the famicom mini 'SD Gundam Gashapon Wars' GBA game you've seen on Yahoo because that crops up on Yahoo quite frequently and it has a very similar cover.

Also that Suparobo site you linked to is just the main Banpresto Suparobo website for information regarding the series. Its mainly just strictly info thing like availability and release dates. What little thats ever been for sale on there like official mechs, tee shirts, arty books and what have you are always linked to other online market places. I have used Rinkya to get things from the links within that site a fair bit, but alot of the time the things they offer have sold out, or are even out of season, but the adverts remain open. You can't buy SRW games there though.

I use that site all the time for release dates, product info, and hoping for new videos to watch. There are quite a few better places for info regarding all the older stuff. I use that Suparobo site alot as there are always decent videos on there, but you can't buy games there.
Nearly correct, it wasnt just given to the first 2000. You registered the code to put yourself into a random prize draw.

If you were pulled out you were sent it.
