If you can find one, there's a headphone adapter you can get that does wonders for the sound. The built-in speaker is awful and seemed to get worse with every version of the console. My monochrome ones sound much better than my Color or Swancrystal.

          Hello,

Sorry to bother you all, but just wondered how do you play these games when they are in JAP?

I understand that some games (for example shmups) wouldnt necessarily require you to know Japanese, but surely rpgs are out of the question?

          Do you all know Japanese or only buying action games ^_^;;;

I love rpg and a lot of good rpg are jap >_< no engrish !!!

          Hyst ^_^

Hi, got my SwanCrystal today 8)

Very happy with it. These are my games:

            Rainbow Islands Putty's Party

            SD GUNDAM Operation U.C.

            Saint Seiya Perfect Edition

Rainbow Island is very very nice. SD Gundam is the game I'm playing most. It's half way between a shoot'em up and a scrolling fighting game. Saint Seiya is a little disappointing, but I haven't played it very much. I've purchased it 'cos I've read it's a great action game. But it is full of RPG elements (poorly exploitable if you don't understand Japanese), full of boring cutscenes and full of dull action. I'll have to dedicate to this game some more time, maybe in the w.end. After all, for Retrobase.net is one of the Top 10 games for WSC.

I've bought Final Fantasy I but couldn't play because of the vaaast amounts of kanji... tbh I only bought the FF set cos it was so darn pretty.

Ahhhhh...there's a lot of Wonderswan love going on here...I like it.

Had a good go on the machine last night, here's some impressions...

The screen is fantastic. It's not quite as 'reflective' as the NGPC screen but it seems to be more colourful. The sound, as recently mentioned, is terrible. The D-pad and button layout is still causing me problems - in general the buttons are just too close to the corners of the unit and it means I can't 'wrap' my hands around it. I have to hold it on the edge of my fingers and when there's button bashing going on my fingers cramp up. However this seemed to be less of an issue on games like Swan Colosseum. Golden Axe gave me the most problems.

Swan Colosseum is FANTASTIC, really didn't expect it to be as good as it is (nice recommendation, Baseley!). The animation is really top notch. It's reminds me of Power Stone but in 2D. Golden Axe looks great, sounds ok but something isn't quite right...I think the controls are a little off, it seems to be harder to actually hit the baddies (you have to line yourself up with them perfectly, whereas the Arcade and MD versions were a little more forgiving). There are little gameplay changes that ruin it for me - the best example is the fact that you can attack two baddies at once and throw them both at the same time too! Still, it's nice to play on the move I suppose. Bit of a let down though as it was the game I wanted the system for.

Overall - worth every penny of ?30.

It is a bit fiddly, isn't it? 'Spesh when you want to run and you need to bash one of the silly Tic-Tac buttons quickly in succession... And you're dead right about how hard it is to actually hit enemies..

                      Still nice though.

I've never bought Swan Colloseum: worth it then? And how much did you obtain it for (if u don't mind me asking )

I'm also thinking of getting Swan Colosseum mate, more impressions? I need some more Wonderswan games and regret selling Pocket Fighters as i haven't seen it around in a while.
