Personally I would love to see a Gradius V-style overhaul - could call it something like "Area 88 X" - could have some nice Anime sequences - would be awesome.

I agree, it would be good to bring it back and the anime tv series of it last year was pretty good too, so they could use that for some inspiration.

Did you ever play US Navy, which was an arcade by capcom which was very similar, although not an actual sequel or anything, it was released afterwards? I used to play that alot too and really enjoyed it, i used to be able to do that on a credit back in the days when i didn't suck at games.

Fantastic game. I remember repeatedly borrowing this off a friend back then because it was just so good. I have since bought myself a copy of Area 88 and still play it from time to time. Still my favourite horizontal shooter

I used to love playing US Navy/Carrier Air Wing in the arcade too, although I wasn't very good at it. I'd actually totally forgotten about that game until recently when I accidently rediscovered it via MAME.

GUITAR TAB UPDATE!

Went down into town today to pick up some fresh strings before getting to work. The music store was closed due to a fire. Burnley being Burnley it only has one store that sell guitars/equipment. I love this town, it's so damn cultured.

Just re-strung my Gibbo - I was gonna wait for my new JS 1200 that turns up on wednesday but what the hell.

I'll be at work on the 'Minx' tab tomorrow for a full 6hrs I hope. I hate writing tabs for existing music, I always start off and then randomly jam into something when I get stuck and then jam off into something I know!

Forgot how good this tune was however. I need a 60hz SNES to hear it at full speed.
