Why the SF analogy in a Goemon thread, well...

I always tell people about Goemon 4 and how there was a level with SF characters in it. I will never forget it as I am a big SF fan. Anyway no one ever believes me...So, after hunting high and low on youtube I was beginning to think I'd made it up but then - Success!! I've eventually found it!!

About 3:44 in...Ryus performing dragon punches and what look like Terry Bogart power waves and Guiles performing sonic booms.

In looking for this clip I've watched quite a few Goemon vids and it has reminded me of how some of the platform and general game design was truely amazing, and why the series was so great.

Nope, thats a completely different game. an excellent one too. Language barrier is a bit of a problem sometimes but theres a helpful walkthrough at GameFaqs.

Yep.. it looks like the devs were paying tribute to Ryu & Guile. Whilst the sprites still have that Goemon style, you can see they are funny versions of those two SF characters.

The Goemon games are amazing. They have everything: great graphics, fantastic tunes, lots of varied action and, brilliant design.

I feel like playing them all again; especially no4
