    Does anyone remember this game?

Whenver I mention this game to people, I get blank looks. I'm starting to think that maybe I imagined it or something.

Anyway, when I was about 11, the local chippy played host to many an arcade game at different times, including Ghosts 'N Goblins, the original Street Fighter (seemed cool at the time), Double Dragon (of course), Jailbreak and many others.

The game I want to talk about though is one called SkyKid. As I recall, the game was a sideways scrolling shooter and you controlled a superdeformed WWII-stlye bi-plane. Half way through the level, you had to swoop down and pick up a large bomb which would be dropped on the end-level-target (these ranged from gun turret islands to gunboats). You got more points for accuracy.

Anyway, it was a nice little game with cartoon-style visuals. I even remember how the music went (somewhat reminiscent of typically English seaside fairground music). If I'm correct, it was a Namco game. It would be really nice to see a handheld update of this as I haven't seen or heard of it anywhere ever since that time I saw it in the arcade as a child.

So, does anyone else rembmer SkyKid, or was I just hallucinating the whole time?

    Sounds like Ordyne to me.

Never heard of Ordyne (sounds like something you take for a migraine). Or maybe that was the Japanese name??

No, SkyKid is right i think, i remember it very well. I used to play it quite a bit along with the other 'less played' games like Circus Charlie.

It's one of my favourite early Namco games. There's a not so good home version on the NES/FC and it had an PS1 import only release on Namco Museum Encore.

It's quite different to any other hori 2D shooter and that's why it's still great to play years later.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but...

I played a game in a pub years and years ago, where you could play co-operative two player with two different characters and it was a hori shooter where you were shooting dinosaurs (or maybe you were dinosaurs?). It felt a little like green beret/bionic commando/metal slug.

It may have been a capcom game.

                  Any ideas?

Sorry hijack this thread also but I remember playing a game at my local arcades, the name of it escapes me and it's really starting to piss me off.

All I do remember is that it was a vertical upscreen shooter and you controlled a dark haired, pony tailed ninja who flew about on a cloud zapping all mannner of oriental type enemies...that's it, that's all I can remember.

                      Anyone know it?

It was around at the same time as Kung Fu Master and the original Street Fighter with the big punch pads.

Thanks Kingston, but I found it to be this:

                            Cadillacs and Dinosuars

I wasn't 100% sure- but your description sure sounded a lot like PI.

Cadillacs and Dinosaurs is another great game- one of Capcoms best!
