Whenver I mention this game to people, I get blank looks. I'm starting to think that maybe I imagined it or something.
Anyway, when I was about 11, the local chippy played host to many an arcade game at different times, including Ghosts 'N Goblins, the original Street Fighter (seemed cool at the time), Double Dragon (of course), Jailbreak and many others.
The game I want to talk about though is one called SkyKid. As I recall, the game was a sideways scrolling shooter and you controlled a superdeformed WWII-stlye bi-plane. Half way through the level, you had to swoop down and pick up a large bomb which would be dropped on the end-level-target (these ranged from gun turret islands to gunboats). You got more points for accuracy.
Anyway, it was a nice little game with cartoon-style visuals. I even remember how the music went (somewhat reminiscent of typically English seaside fairground music). If I'm correct, it was a Namco game. It would be really nice to see a handheld update of this as I haven't seen or heard of it anywhere ever since that time I saw it in the arcade as a child.
So, does anyone else rembmer SkyKid, or was I just hallucinating the whole time?
