I'm so glad that I've come through my "collecting" phase and just buy games that I want to play. I feel kinda sorry for people who buy stuff like this...

Personally, if I really wanted something like that, it would need to be in much nicer condition.
Knowing the seller though, it wouldn't surprise me if it's actually worth a lot more than that since his start bids are usually pretty fair and set below the maximum you could expect for something.

Why exactly? Can people not buy whatever they choose to buy? Without snide comment?

Thats a pretty rare game they only made 4000 of them (not 1000 like the seller has stated) but theres no way id pay that much as its in shockingly crap condition, by my standards at least.

He says its in very good condition for a 20 year old game, yeah right. I have famicom games the same age as that & they are in mint condition.

Hmm i might start having to list my stuff on ebay uk as there seems to be a higher percentage of crazy bidders

Sorry dude, I didn't mean to bash collectors and certainly did not type that with snidey intent. It's just that, in my own experience, when buying something "collectable", I remember getting a rush while I was coveting it, but as soon as I owned it I couldn't care less so I'd move on to coveting something else. What I meant was that (if this holds for other collectors) I feel sorry that they'd live their lives in such a consumer-mad bubble. If, however, someone can get sustained joy from buying a game that has images of noodles instead of power-ups, fair-play to them.

That's probably one of leonk's reproductions (from nesreproductions.com). AFAIK, the only genuine copies are prototypes that don't have the retail label.

Still a ridiculous price though. Ah well - it will keep anagrama happy though ... looks like his investment is pretty safe

I have a Czech housemate moving in next week. She will be strictly informed to keep her eyes peeled whenever she goes back home!!

Yeah, that one's insane - retro_skank had it listed as a BIN-only a couple of times, then tried his luck on the open auction, which seems to have paid off. That's almost double the most I'd previously heard of it selling for. Can't complain though, since mine was 25% that price
