Ooh, I think it IS worth levelling up your spells. The first time I played it, I rushed through without levelling up and I had a horrid time of it later on. Not to mention that I couldn't afford any decent armour.

    Seconded on

    the Ice Country

as the best levelling location. Remember that for most attack spells you can start casting the next one before the previous one's animation has finished, thus letting you max out your damage on most enemies if you have enough MP. P4wn4g3!

Ahh! I'm squirming so much just thinking about how great this game is!

Of course that's one of the things you don't have to bother with if you're doing it multiplayer.

Another gripe is that half the time you'll attack something and do no damage, with no indicator as to why that is. Gets quite annoying when you've got to wait for your guage to fill back up then you just swing and do nothing. If it only happened when the enemy was on the ground or casting a spell you could understand it.
Switching between characters: It is obvious which character you're controlling in the heat of everything. See at the bottom of the screen the character portraits? There'll be a 1 in the corner of the one you're controlling. Also, you see the colours around the selection box in the ring when you go into the menu? Blue is the hero, pink is the girl and green is the sprite. That's how you tell. When you press Y to go into the menu of the character you're controlling, you can then press X to go to the other characters' menus instead of having to come out of the menu, press select, then go back into the menu.

Doing no damage: Does the enemy float upwards when you swing at them? This is them dodging. That is to say, try another weapon. Check the weapon description in the weapon levels screen to see what would work best. I'm guessing you're having this problem mostly with slimes. Spears, javelins and especially whips are best against slimes, although if you want you can always wait for it to spawn two mates, kill them and leave one to spawn two more and hang around repeating that for a bit of levelling up

Now here the part where I tell you how sad I am, as I leveled up my characters to L99 and got their magic and weapon skill to max!

The spoiler's about weapon skill and level.

Also picked up all the special 9th orbs dropped from the enemies, bar one which that damn wizard didn't want to give me! Shame you couldn't get the 9th sword orb, only a very nasty bug let you find it
