i was looking through that videogame centre site and i felt that i must have somewhere taken a trip back into the past, it feels like the dodgy importers of the early 90's , ?160 for a imported DS and ?50 for imported DS games, not to mention ?550 for a US 360 core system, what are those guy's on? I saw a picture of that place from the outside in a mag and it looked very nice, shame it must be full of c**ts in the inside. And people wonder why our high street importers are dead

Mate - got it spot on the bloke who works there (not the one which owns it) is a complete w*nker - rude to customers etc, yer but idiots like me go back to the import stores, thats why some are still in business, in future im going to buy my stuff of here or off OUTTAJAPAN - ebay - least i know i aint gonna get ripped off

Guys, i just went on that site for the first time. You're all right, are they on. They can't actually be serious!

Not to mention those trades guys! Don't ever trade anything in, just sell it on Ebay, it's a bit more hassle but you'll appreciate it more in the end and most importantly get more money for your beloved games!

As for 'video game centre' i wouldn't mind telling them where to stick there prices ft:

sold my entire Neo Geo collection prior to moving to Gibraltar in 2000

its was a home system and about 10 games

sold it to loaded consoles (Lee Dobinson) for ?500

took him 2 months to grade the stuff and a further 2 months for him to decide to deposit ?250 in my bank and send a cheque for ?250

i got the deposit but the cheque bounced twice and the reason it bounced - because his bank account was closed the day after he wrote the cheque

never did get the money back - funny thing was he ripped me off about 5 years earlier - but hey they say old dogs learn new tricks, erm no they dont

The post office ripped me (and buster) off when a box full of nice MD games (including Probotector) went missing. Still gyps me that one. I also dickered Jason around for ages on the refund - will serve him right for looking at me funny.

Videogame Centre is very expensive, but they have some nice stuff in there and are always open to offers if you go in there in person. Always best not to act green in there though. Last time I went in there was Radiant Silvergun (?180) and Taromaru (?200), all PS2 imports were in the sixty quid bracket. I got an MVS mobo in there for ?50, it is well nice version and I thought that was a steal. Tip though - don't buy an arcade cab in there, my mate Dave off killercabs reckons he saw the wiring inside one they were selling recently (had Batsugun in it) and said that basically it was a deathtrap. And this guy could probably wire a human being to JAMMA, so knows what he is talking about.

I got ripped off on ebay once - had a Jap DC game (KOF 2001 if I remember) and the picture showed all complete, spine, instructions, original game GD rom - when it arrived it was a backup with a photocopy of the inlay sellotaped inside an ex-rental Blockbuster game case. The daft twat lived in Hedge End though (5 mins from my house), and I had his address (paid by postal order). Got my money back in the end, and I think he got a bollocking from his mum who didn't look too impressed to see who her son had ripped off, especially when the refund ended up coming out of her purse because the little scrote didn't have any money.

I sold an Atari 2600 and 52 games on ebay a few years back and was sent a cheque for it. 5 days later the money was showing in my bank so I sent the package, to Ireland.

4 days later my bank returned the cheque and said it bounced. The person I sold the package to said he never received it. Back then for some reason there were no signatures required for large packages.

Anyway Royal Mail said they had delivered the packaged but the buyer claimed he had not received it. Then followed 3 weeks of me trying to get Royal Mail to pay me my ?120+ pounds back as they now claimed this address I sent the package to did not exist. I replied quoting the exact address and proved it by the wonderful internet and said if he had not received the console why has it not been returned to me? They paid me the money back but I know the buyer did the dirty on me and I am still peeved.

I still have all the documentation somewhere as it taught me a huge lesson about Ebay.

I have recently been the victim again on ebay after receiving a dud ps2 that was for my nieces birthday. Ebay were not that helpful in sorting the issue so I lost out ?50 there.

I traded my entire Jap MD collection back in 92 for a Neo AES system with one game.
That doesn't sound too bad but my MD collection was really good with some 50+ Jap games including pretty much all the decent stuff that had been released up till then.

I kept the Neo for about a year before getting another MD. I'll never trade a whole collection of anything ever again, lesson learned.
