I can fully understand why some people much prefer the MD version, but to say the snes version is poor etc... is being way too harsh
You could say the same bout Contra and Castlevaina onthe MD, but the trouble was after the magic that were the Snes versions The MD versions were a massive comdown and letdown.

I feel the same for the Snes version of G'N'G. After the MD version it was a massive comdown and like MD Contra it was far too hard for it's own good

Why don't we all just play Demons Crest/Blazon instead

Couldn't believe how good this was when it came out, and it still amazes me!

as well as the others mentioned, I thought Ardy Lightfoot and Addams Family were decent.

Amen to that - superb game

I can honestly say that I've never had a problem with the Snes game's control - even a million years ago when I first bought it & was but a whippersnapper.

Agree. Slowdown in places and a debatable too high a default setting for diffulty are really the only two flaws which are more than compensated by the incredible visuals and soundtrack.

Demons crest - i ll have to hunt that down

I bloody love Sparkster. Superb game all round. Brilliant visuals, catchy tunes, and it's really fun! Probably a bit easy, but who cares!

Some will say the MD versions are much better, but every version is good!

SNES Sparkster is the best! Can't beat the 100mph robot chicken level or the punch-up on level 7.

It gets quite tough towards the end, too. Good challenge. ****ing brilliant Akira Yamaoka soundtrack too (if he actually handled that one - I can't remember).

Ok so which is which? im so sure the right hand side one is the snes version, i think i remember the MD version having brighter crispier visuals.

Oh and by the way i think i see a few Spatials in that 2nd pic, lol!

The left one is obviously the snes version, with it's crisp sharp look. The MD version still looks great, and I think it's pretty crisp and clear compared to a lot of MD games.

The snes version is pretty special looking though. Lots of people see it as a prime example of the visual clarity the snes could produce. I think it looks nicer than the MD version, but they both have their own charm!

All this talk of which one is which, has even made me write a mistake. Of course the left one is the snes version!

Sometimes things get very confused in retro-land!
