Final Fantasy VI? for december perhaps.
It's getting the GBA Re-Release treatment ($49.99 at VG+) in December, played it on PSOne for the first time and was addicted to it thought it was a wonderfull RPG cool with a cool story and a great cast of characters.
Just loved the whole scenario only thing is i never finished it! Was about 38 hours into it as well, so I'm probably gonna pick this up on GBA and play it to death (hopefully on a GBMicro.)

The original Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is a great game, and one I imagine quite a few people missed out on when it was first released. I think it was one of only a few western platform games to come close to the quality of feel of a Japanese platform game.

With that in mind, Sly Racoon or possibly its first sequel would be a great choice too. I bet a lot of peoeple have never played the Platform Stealth game before. Beautiful controls, some fantastic missions and set pieces and awesome level design.

Bunjingi or Ape Escape 2, both not massively long games, ape escape 2 isnt easy to track down these days though.

Bunjingi is a good one, a true underated game that slipped off many a radar. I would also suggest the following:

          Point Blank games

          Amplitude

          Psi-Ops

          Total Overdose

Amplitude is a good shout. I have to learn to use the shoulder buttons because face pad bashing has only got me about half of the way through it so far...

Personally I always thought Frequency was the better game, Harmonix do know how to make a decent music game tho

Another brilliant choice - well worth another look

Amplitude might be a good one. Other nominations: Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time, Shadow Hearts (but that might be a little hard to get and complete within a month for some people - like me), Fahrenheit (could bring up some nice discussions) and Psychonauts (go get it, even if it doesn't get a relay).

Eternal darkness, prince of persia, id agree with these as i missed these the first time round.
Yeah man, or how about visiting a game that nobody really bothered with? Something not so "AAA" but is still really good cop? VG history is littered with such titles, forums filled with angst teenage anger at such games 'cos they either can't be figured out, were considered "too hard", not graphically intensive enough or just not trendy enough. An example right here on the forum, some idiot slated Battlestar Galactica without ever really experiencing it. It's maybe too recent a title to want to revisit but the the example is sound enough. While it is difficult to be verbose about a game one may have never played, many titles do have cult followings and there's plenty of information around to garner interest.

What platforms are included here? I've run retro-themed threads before that go ignored by most people, GotM. That attractive fella in Sarfhampton has done too.

Oh, with you all revisiting these titles and hopefully completing them, capture the endings for us. Ta

                        Another shout for Psi-Ops.
Condemned ; Criminal origins (360) is another i'd like to suggest. 'Criminally' overlooked at launch, i only just finished this recently... the atmosphere, crunching weight behind the melee combat and storyline are second to none. Fantastic game.

This project isn't about only playing games you may have missed out on in the past, its about celebrating gaming by having a different game every period in which people, whether they have played the game in the past or whether they are new to it, joining in with playing and talking about the game under the spotlight.

Some people will nominate their favourites, others will nominate something that they really want to play but need motivating to do so (as this new project will hopefully be able to do) ... the thing is, you all nominate games and we (ie staff members) pick what the next months title will be (this is a work in progress though, subject to how successfully this method works out in the short term). We aim to give as balanced a choice as we can, whilst getting as many people as we can involved each and every month.

There is no defined list of platforms included in the nomination process, though going back to my previous point in that we want as many people involved as possible it may be a while before you see a game exclusive to the Marty FM under the Relay Appreciate spotlight. Without putting ourselves into a corner here with what may or may not be nominated, I can safely say that games released since the last generation began will, for the first couple of months at least, get the priority over older titles since we feel that they will be owned by the most people and/or easier to source for anyone willing to take part - this will of course change once legalised emulation becomes more widespread (for example the launch of the Wii with the Virtual Console, Xbox Live arcade and whatever the PS3 brings to the table).

Some of the suggestions people are making I absolutely love, for the simple reason that they are games that I personally want to play again, want to finish or just never played in the first place ... I feel that is what makes this project so special, its giving me a month to definitely play one game to completion and talk about it with others doing the same thing, all the time playing whatever new releases I pick up along the way.

This sounds like a really good idea. However, does that mean that there will only be 1 game discussed per month? Sounds like a very long time to be honest, especially if a game is fairly short. For example, if someone doesn't like the current month's game (e.g. me not liking bg&e ), then they would have to wait a whole month before they could participate in the contributions.

Oh, I'll also nominate Sands of Time. It's been one and a half years since I played it for the first time, and am actually dying to go through it again.

Yes, yes, yes, in my top 5 this (last) gen...I can not say enough good things about this game and am always recommending it to friends and strangers alike. Can be bought for peanuts and should be played by all

I just wish they would announce the sequel
