Incase anyone's intersted, I've been working on this one for 3 hours, every other Saturday, for about 2-3 months now. It's finally nearing completetion! Today was a real Frankenstein moment, when I plugged in the batteries and pushed the on-switch.
Front.

Back.

(game is Super Mario RPG)
Just a few things left to do:
1 / Shoulder buttons.
2 / Aluminium sides.
3 / Charging jack.
4 / Slightly modify the buttons so they have better contact with the tact switches. They are onlyabout 80% at the moment.
5 / Sandwich it all together.
6 / Possibly do an LED mod to double battery life.
7 / Find a suitable battery cover.
8 / Look into why the screen jumps a little in time with the audio.
9 / Add the remaining decals.
I was planning on ebaying it once done to fund christmas, but I'm not sure I could part with it now :-S Put too much into it.... And it probably wont be finished in time.
Anyone else tried anything like this? IThe instructions are all in this book:
