I'm all for Macros Scramble Valkery on the Super Famicom ! Fantastic shooter with some very impressive effects plus gorgeous graphics and sound.

Other Horizontals I really like are

    MD - Thunder Force IV
MD - Glay Lancer (looks pretty rough though)
    SFC - R-Type III
    SFC - Area 88
Mega CD - Keio Flying Squadron
    Saturn - Hyper Dual
    Saturn - Sengoku Blade II
Saturn - Darius Gaiden (mostly fort he tunes)
    PlayStation - G-Darius
Dreamcast - Border Down (MUST HAVE FOR ALL !!)

I'm sure there are others but these are the ones that stick in my head. Macross on the SFC being the most impressive.

              There is a Super R-type for the snes/sfc which is a snes/sfc conversion of R-type 2.

Super R-Type eh? I got it for a bargain £35 brand new back in the day in the Shekana summer sale. My mate kept calling it Scramble (much to my annoyance), due to the inclusion of the English text on the back of the box.

                      It's a bastardisation of R-Type I & II.

You'd have to ask Capcom about that one

                        Progear gets my vote too

Also a fan of R-Type, Last Resort, Tengai/Sengoku Blade, Gradius V...

I was also surprised how good this was. The original rocks too.

Nope, levels are too empty. 3 is superior in gameplay, if not graphically (although I'd argue that case as well...)

I had a copy back in the day, but sold it. Luckily... I managed to get a new copy fairly cheap from Japan. I think it was ?7.

It's an amazing game. The visuals match the best the machine has to offer, and maybe even being the best in some peoples eyes. The sound is great too- with excellent tunes, and the sound effects are brilliant.

                              A must have shooter!

To name just one isn't quite right is it...

But anyway it has to be ThunderForceIV for me, in so many ways it's still a stunner.
