    The King of Fighters 98
    Capcom vs SNK
    Devil Crash
    Layer Section
    Sensible World of Soccer

these are the games I have rinsed most comprehensively ovr the years, more so in recent years. When Sensi comes out on XBLA, oh man

Garou is right up there too, I had KOF 98 and Garou running when I had arcade cab set up so used to practise them religiously every day.

I feel there are many people who will give up real-life as soon as the Sensi bomb drops

Hmm, my list goes a little something like this...

      Daytona USA
      F-Zero X
      Perfect Dark
Metal Slug II (and I still can't 1C the thing!)
      Elite

      ...

Although I feel Street Fighter II and Goldeneye should be there too. I think PD pips 'em to the post though.

GoldenEye is the clear winner so far. The reason must be the fact that the singleplayer experience was just as compulsive as the multiplayer. It was the perfect package.

Goldeneye (N64) - Used to play with three of my mates every night for a few hours a time. This went on from release day till 18 months later. I would love to see how many actual hours we spent playing that. My eyes still ache from a 13 hour session we had on it one day.

Senisble Soccer (MD) - Never had an Amiga so I had to make do with the MD version. Again I used to play this multi-player all the time. In fact Ive been playing this again this week. Im still pretty handy at it. Once the 360 version I will never be off it.

Championship Manager 3 (PC) I had to stop playing this as I was putting way too much time into it. It was seriously affecting my lifestyle at the time. I would get up and sneak half an hour before going to school/college. Finish college and I would come in and hammer it all night until bed. I hardly had a social life when this was out, saying that my mates were all hermits at the time because of it.

Streets of Rage (MD) Best side scrolling beat em up ever. I must of sat and played all the way through this hundreds of times. The christmas I got my MD with this I absolutley hammered it. Sonic never got a look in.

ISSPro (PS1) Another footy game I was addicted to. Remebered reading the reviews on this and knew I had to pick it up. It was better than I could ever of imagined. For the best part of a year this was the only PS1 game I would play on. No wonder my console died on its arse.

            GoldenEye again.

Football games are always going to dominate these sort of lists. They are really addictive, and in multiplayer, people spend hours each day. Sadly... I've never had any mates who like football games .... I used to bribe my bro into playing them. Thank God for Live

Based on time played in no particular order:

Dungeon Master (Amiga. Spent a fortune on the half meg upgrade but more than got my moneys worth from the game).

Paradroid (C64. Even with todays visuals and audio this little old C64 game still beats most for tension and atmosphere).

Kick Off 2 (Amiga. Loved Sensi as well but this got the time).

              Street Fighter 2 Turbo (SNES)

Dragons Lair (Arcade. Princess Daphne couldn't get enough of me).

Honourable mention for Wizball. Perfect pacing, controls and difficulty.

Started a new topic in General Gaming about Football games to avoid derailing this topic completly.

We played 50 straight games of England (him) versus Nigeria (me) throughout the night. He won the the first and last games and I won the 48 in between.

I really did become almost zen-like at that game, never piled quite so much time into any of Pro Evo's since.

SWOS was the same when I was younger. I was considering getting a 360, almost just for SWOS XBLA, but after finding out there were applications to play online on a PC I think I'll stick with that. Just need to find me one of those old school black Amiga joysticks with the yellow buttons to play it with.
Competition Pro joystick probably. Lovely stick that.

Actually that sounds more like the Zipstik to me.

I remember having a Konix Speedking for my Spectrum. Now there was a stick which would take a damn good Daley Thompsoning and survive

                            #1. Goldeneye
#2. Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past
                            #3. Donkey Kong Country
                            #4. F-Zero
                            #5. 1080 Snowboarding

I play on these all still at least once a week, and tend to go for speed runs on how quick I can beat them, and I still enjoy them as much as when I first got them. Most of today's games just don't have any soul and I find most to be 'meh' once completed.

F-Zero always cheers-me-up. The music, distinctive stages, and overall fun factor, make it an experience I'll never tire of.
