Yeah Slammasters is good, Has Hagger from final fight in it + T Hawk from Super street fighter! Not really rare though a boxed pal one would be hard to get.

The arcade Turtles was SH1t mate, Really Sh1t compared to the SNES Turtles. Even the megadrive turtles was far better.

I know screwattack cant be taken seriously but I have also seen other polls and Turtles In Time is always near too, or on top.

Owning and completing all of these games many times I think gives me good judgement on which are best!
First of all, Yesteryeargames - I just want to make it clear that I have no qualms and/or grudges with the opinions of anybody here. I'm just trying to add to a great debate that's taking place here. That's what this fine forum is all about, no?

Secondly, you're not the only one who's ever owned/played/repeatedly completed the vast majority of the games you're talking about here, so in reality, your judgement is exactly like mine - only as valid and/or good as anybody else's, and no better.

Thirdly, The original (recently deemed worthy for re-release on XBLA, funnily enough) TMNT arcade game isn't "really sh1t" at all. Graphics and sound-wise, yes, Turtles In Time knocks it into a cocked hat. But TMNT at least matches Turtles In Time for gameplay and the original's 4-Player co-op was a big draw in the arcades. But, let's try to make allowances for the fact that it was around two or three years before Turtles In Time. Turtles In Time is the greater technical achievement, but it uses a slightly souped-up version of the same game engine. There's really not much between them, gameplay-wise. And yes, Hyperstone Heist on the MD/Genesis (which I too owned and completed) is included in this argument - again technically better than TMNT Arcade, but not that far advanced gameplay-wise at all.

At the end of the day, I too have a soft-spot for Turtles In Time. I concur that it just may be the best SNES/SFC scrolling fighter of all time, but I just don't think that it's the best scrolling fighter of all time (on any format). Games like Alien v Predator, Cadillacs 'n' Dinosaurs, The Punisher, Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara/Tower Of Doom, Knights of the Round, Captain Commando and of course Final Fight (all cream-of-the-crop Capcom scrolling fighters from an arcade scene that they absolutely dominated for most of the 90's, genre-wise) all match Turtles In Time for gameplay if not graphics and sound (and even then Alien V Predator probably matches or even betters it for tech specs).

Obviously, we'll have to agree to disagree on this one, but please don't think that I disrespect your opinion or anybody else's for that matter. I just think that this thread rocks and all I want to do is add to top-notch debate!

I think the scrolling beat em ups mentioned like Punishder, C&D, AvP, are all head and shoulders above Turltes in Time, both presentation and gameplay wise. I also think stuff like Night Slashers and Vendeta are far better games in all areas. In terms of animation alone Turltes in Time is way behind imo.

If Ninjawarriors Again counts as a scrolling beat 'em up (borderline) I'd say it best game on the Snes. Massive sprites, great animation, good music, lots of moves and even variety which is sorely lacking in the genre. It actually got a PAL release under the title "Ninjawarriors the new generation", pretty rare I'd guess.

          Nu-Eclipse, I respect your opinions too mate please don't think I don't !
So we shall agree to disagree mate.

Perhaps I was a little harsh calling the original Turtles arcade crap but in my opinion it is poor when compared to turtles in time as there were hardly any attack moves!

Anyway, Great debate as this is, I started this thread and its subject was the rarest PAL SNES game, not the best scrolling fighter

Does anyone have a link to a PAL SNES rarity guide/value guide out of interest?

^Yeah, and did BC Kid actually get a PAL release?

I've never been rich enough to be a 'minty collector', but I scavenged mightily around the retro scene in the early/mid/semi-late 90s, markets and independent game shops and all kinds of other scuzzy places - and I've NEVER seen it floating around.

Final Fight 3 deffo did, as did Hagane (which is great in a 7/10 type of way).

Did Ninja Warriors Return *really* come out in PAL-land???? I was after that game like Gollum.

BC got a PAL release, I had a couple copies of it at one point. Uncommon, but super cheap when it turns up.

I have never seen Ninja Warriors Return's though.

I have a boxed complete PAL Super BC kid.

I also have Ninja Warriors in Pal version with English (and other languages) box and instructions! very rare that one
The full PAL name is NINJAWARRIORS THE NEW GENERATION

If you go to this thread and scroll down to look at my SNES collection photos, In the bottom photo you can see the PAL Ninja Warriors on the top right hand side of a shelf (it has a blue box)

They have passed years from the last post but I am a new member and now I can post my opinion. So, I think the most valuable snes pal game now is for sure Megaman X3. I have seen copies which have been sold for about 1200 GBP.

Usually, the high prices are for rare games but I think MM X3 is a common game as there are many complete copies out there. I think the rarest pal snes game and extremely difficult to find in complete boxed condition are:

Harvest Moon (UK version, not the common german or french/dutch)
Lufia (Spanish version, the only pal european small box, not the common australian version)
