Indeed, I really rarerly use ebay for anything now & would rather sell gaming stuff here. The costs are too much for the little things. A great site ruined by greed.

I think everyone shoud arrange a time and log on to ebay on different computers and see if they actuallly try to call every person logging on from a different PC.

I don't know if they still do it, but I remember it being a complete pain when I was trying to buy a Mega CD memory cart (the things you use to save your game), as the official name for them contains the word "Backup", so they kept removing the auctions.

There is a report button on every item page already, but I think it's hidden away at the bottom somewhere. I've only ever used it once, to report every single one of a seller's items after the game I bought off him turned out to be YARRR. That'll learn 'em!

Yep, anything less than £1 makes it difficult, even with merchant accounts. To be fair to eBay, they did lower their listing fees considerably to coincide with the 15% VAT. This is quite a good trade off if item's you are selling are not expected to be searched/bought often.

              e.g. £50 videogame for 100 days
old fee + final valuation fee ~£10
new fee + final valuation fee ~£6

I had my genuine copy of Xenogears ~ Perfect Works removed when there were those discs with the scans on floating around. That really annoyed me. All it took was a look at the pictures I uploaded to see that it was quite clearly a real book.

I've had imported games removed and a modded console (maybe not so ridiculous). I've never sold anything illegal as far as I'm aware, but ebay seem to have a problem with me - probably because I keep spamming their 'customer service' telling them what a bunch of ***** they are.

i got one negative from a American eBayer because he bought a UK game, which was clearly marked a UK game for his USA Gamecube

i told him to get a freeloader, but he negged me

took all my evidence along to eBay and the outcome was that he was entitled to his opinion and the negative stood

Yes, that's quite common i've had it too.

But when you sell items internationally, you have to make it your business to tell the customer of compatibility. It's not good enough to just say "for PAL". But most sellers do this just to trick a few buyers and because listing every compatible country is unrealistic.

I had exactly the same problem. Sold some Yank 8 UK XBox games, the auction had PAL all over it, I emailed him to make sure he knew they were PAL games and that he'd need an adaptor, he said yes, I sent them off, a week later the little **** negged me trying to say they were pirate because they didn't work on his machine. Got that neg reversed though, but still, how many times do people need asking?

I've noticed a trend in the last year or so where you'll only ever get feedback from people with between 20 and a few hundred feedbacks, newbies don't give and power sellers can't be bothered.

I had to neg someone the other day. I bought a boxed snes game which looked to be in good condition by the pic and description. When I recieved it there was scribbles all over the back in biro. I messaged the guy I bought it from and he told me to never bid on his games again, as he doesn't have time to check the condition and I was being stupid to expect a 15 year old game to be in good condition. I don't normall neg people, but this asshole had it coming. He left me positive feedback but with a negative comment, so I simply got ebay to remove the comment and am now left with the plus point!

Ahh yes the beauty of sellers not being able to leave retaliation feedback

NTSC-UK doesn't allow me to write the word I want to use to describe eBay. They have zero consistency in matter like this. They continually allow people with products located in Hong Kong to list those items under the UK and put the fact that it's in Hing King in the description. Of course the price of the Hong Kong items are usually less than the UK ones and thus.. oh forget it, no one's litening, least of all eBay. Is there a viabble alternative to eBay?

Which is a predictable and utterly stupid thing to say. What does he expect?

Hope you didn't pay too much over the odds for it.

Nah. It was actually a good price. I wasn't even wanting a refund on it, just for him to maybe apologise for not pointing it out in his auction! Ah well, he **** in his own nest
