Not playing as such, but I've been at my dad's house recently and made him go into the loft to see what magazines I had up there. I'm currently looking through a pile of Commodore Format magazines, issues 6 to 41. It's pure nostalgia.
I really miss the days of popping to the newsies with a couple of quid in my pocket, getting a magazine with 2 or 3 full games on the front, and reading every page from cover to cover; fascinated by the reviews, previews, budget releases and features. There was an air of excitement and mystery to games in those days, that's long lost in this era of knowing exactly how many wanks the lead programmer of a FPS has sneaked out to have during a game's development.Last edited by prinnysquad; 11-11-2012, 17:54.

Made loads of progress with Metroid Fusion.
Up to sector 3 atm (lava level but I don't have the heat suit) and I'm having a lot of fun with the new sprint power-up; so much fun just bulldozing through the walls and floor! Thought it was a nice touch that when you encountered the infected Samus walking on the platform below, you could catch up with her and have a battle - even though you almost instantly get frozen.
In Metal Slug Advance I've made it to the end boss of level 2 (the giant twin tank battle) but finding it a bit tricky to take down the second tank - keeps carpet bombing me before I can get the laser! think I just need to put in more practice.

I can do that with my late 90s PlayStation mags. Reading about imports and the like. Good times.
For me, I've been playing Third Strike (PS2) on my 9" PVM. Turning off the game filter makes it almost look perfect. DC version has a 240p mode but no unblockables so hey. Great fun, even though I've memorised the attack pattern of the highest difficulty setting so it gets kind of boring. I guess this is what online is for?
