Completed Metroid Fusion!
Found the final bosses ( Samus X and the two monsters) pretty tricky as I tried to kill them with the freeze rockets first and they do absolutely sod all damage. Reverted back to the charged laser and pretty much breezed through the final 3 bosses - actually found the dragon you fight a little earlier more of a tricky foe to take down.
Overall, very enjoyable game with just the right amount of challenge for me. Think my completion time was somewhere in the region of 3:40 which does seem a bit on the short side - is Zero shorter than Fusion? Would have happily continued playing for longer as I felt I'd finally mastered the controls in that last battle.
Metal Slug Advance progress has grinded to a halt. Up to level 3 and it's just throwing too many enemies at me. Can't take them all out without taking damage.

All the 2D Metroid's are about that length, depending on how good you are. If you're a beginner though, and you beat Fusion as quickly as that, I would imagine Zero Mission (and certainly Super Metroid) would take you longer because they don't hold your hand all the way through and tell you exactly where to go.

I know.
Cheapest I've ever seen it go for is ?35.
On the plus side though, I beat the third level of Metal Slug Advance!
Took a few attempts as the third mission boss was tricky - lots of jumping required to shoot down as the main gun is on a train track - but I'm enjoying it all the same. Main negative I can see with the game is it's incredibly short. Only five levels. How many were there in contra? 10?

Made it to the final boss in Metal Slug Advance.
Man alive, how do you beat it!? the best I've managed to do so far is to get to what I think is the half way stage where bits of the things armour start to drop off. After that, the robot starts to showers the screen with laser beams and these two sentries drop out which are tricky to kill.

Broke my RGB cable!!
Only turned the game on, had a quick play and then dropped the console when taking it into the front room and tried to catch it via the scart cable, pulled a few wires off the 8 pin din end and when soldering it back together again the plastic snapped so one of the pins is hanging off.
Probably just going to hard wire it on tomorrow.
