I'm sure the 'standard' version is harder to find than this one.

Wasn't aware a PAL version of this existed!
I owned both of those carts back in the day, so I hope not

        Fatal Fury Special on SNES.

Fatal Fury 2 I think had Pal release though I never saw a copy.

Fatal Fury Special would not even get in the top 20 of rare PAL SNES games mate. Fatal Fury 2 did indeed get a PAL release but only in Germany.

Here are 10 of the rarest PAL SNES games (not in order) Just don't expect to find any of these at a car boot sale! lol

          Whirlo
          Aero The Acrobat 2
          Brawl Brothers (Rival Turf 2)
          Captain Commando
          Cool World
          Sonic Blastman
          X-Zone
          Soul Blazer (English version)
          Super Widget

            Cool World
They used to have this sun-faded and sitting in the window of 'Seconds' in the 'picturesque' town of Alder****e aout 3 years ago. I had no idea it was worth tupence ha'penny to be honest. Bollocks.

A similar story with Sonic Blastman, remember it being a ropey sidescroller thus thought it was worth nothing, and have seen it more than once over the past few years, although not recently.

Are you sure they were not US NTSC versions mate? The PAL versions were never released in the UK and I think it far more likely that somone whould have imported US versions into this country as at least they would have had English Instructions and English on the box.

Yeah, it's not that rare though. Pops up on ebay all the time, and I've sold a couple of copies on ebay after picking them up in gamestation. Doesn't hold a torch to the Saturn version though.

Some of those are a bit debatable as to how rare they are, Captain Commando I?ve seen a lot on ebay. There's about 50 PAL games that are very rare, Megaman X3, Super Chase HQ and Final Fight 3 should go on that list in truth the SNES is a real minefield for rare games.

Saturn wise Swagman and Mortal Kombat Trilogy and for the DC it?s dragon riders, Aqua GT and Caesar Palace 2000, but no DC game is that rare.

                    Ah, ive been summoned!

A few? Thats an understatement. The PAL NES set is by far the hardest set to complete out of the Sega & Nintendo 8bit & 16bit systems.
Youd be suprised how many rares there actually are.

There are a handful of NES games (well SNES for that matter to) that only got released in Scandanavia that are a pain in the ass to locate, price is the other issue too.

Yesteryeargames covered SNES pretty well if you ask me, but ill always emphasise the rarity of X-Zone, Cool World and Soul Blazer (English).
But Id like to add in the PAL Starwing Competition cartridge.

Sorry, this post ended up alot longer than I thought it would.
Is Starwing Competition really as rare as every thinks / says? I only ask because I've seen at least 4 ebay'd over the past couple of weeks, none of which even pushed over £50. Maybe I shouldn't be sharing these things... or maybe there's a fair few repro's out there. Either way, I've seen it more times this past week than I've ever seen an English Soul Blazer.

The reason I added it to the list is purely because it wasnt one you could go out and buy. I think recent rush in them appearing on eBay, is like any other eBay moment. One person latches onto its value, sells theirs and more follow.

Once it dies down I dont expect to see them that often.

Azure Dreams on the GBC is a rare one. Most people aren't even aware the port existed. Probably not worth much though. Don't think there are many valuable GBC carts around because of piracy

Surely Dragon Ball Z (PAL SEGA Saturn) is one of them? Or was that an elaborate fake I saw a picture of?

                              Edit: NM, here's one:

I remember it because I used to take that cart out and swap it with Street Fighter 2 or Mario Kart and skive off work...

I've heard estimates that there was anywhere between 500-3000 PAL versions made. Considering there was probably one sent to every Blockbuster / Toys R Us / chain store capable of setting up a kiosk, that would've made near enough 500 carts in the UK alone, so 3000 sounds like a reasonable number.

Don't suppose you held on to it, did you?
