DoReMi Adventure, Umihara Kawase, Majyuuou, Mickey's Magical Adventure 3, Dragonball Z: Hyper Dimension, Front Mission, Battle Cross... all perfectly playable... all essential games.

Star Ocean, Fire Emblem 3,4 & 5, Front Mission: Gun Hazard, Far East of Eden Zero, Macross, Treasure Hunter G, Darius Force, just to name a few more.

Not so sure Star Ocean, Fire Emblem and Far East of Eden Zero are what I'd describe as being playable (or at least fun) for non-Japanese speakers but that is just a result of my initial statement being poor. What I meant was that the games I mentioned are perfectly playable for non-Japanese speakers
