[October 31st and November] Horror games for Halloween

I'll be trying Cold Fear and there are some other people trying the Dino Crisis series so far. What will you be playing?

Let's have a discussion about the best and worst of the horror genre and maybe we'll even identify a game we need to replay specifically one month. Dig them out and play them on halloween while cowering in the dark hoping the trick or treaters go away

What about any of the Project Zero ( fatal frame ) games, ive never tried them but always wanted too, would it be good to play in the dark not knowing when halloween'ers where going to knock on my door?

I'm going to play Dead Space on the run up to Haloween. I started it on normal with some friends and got to the 4th mission, but stalled. Started it fresh now on hard.

The Project Zero games are pretty scary.

I played The Thing back when it came out and remember LOVING IT. Though modern people tell me I am wrong.

I may well join you on some Cold Fear action Charles, I only ever played about an hour of it.

Me and a mate will be cracking out Condemned 2 for some CSI mode fun, last year XBLive made it a Condemned game night. Only about 30 people showed overall but it was a great atmosphere as they stuck around most of the night.

Totally agree with you on The Thing there, though my 360 dieing killed my save file . It really captured well the atmosphere of the film in my opinion with the whiteouts and burnt out buildings.

Maybe Forbidden Siren, on PS2, or the PS3 equivalent.

Bought it day one but have played it 3 times (5 mins a time) because it makes me scaredy-boo!!

I know it's not really a horror game but it does have zombies in it and I've only spent 30 minutes playing on it so far which makes me feel like I'm wasting a really good game.

how about gregory horror show on ps2? cartoon looks but they're some real psycho characters and scenarios in there. i love it.

Siren: New Translation scares the bejebus outta me. I play it in total darkness with the 7.1 cranked right up. I got it at release and played up to chapter 7. I think I'm up to chapter 10 now due to a recent revisitation. I should go back and finish it, but alas I like to torture my games by not actually playing them.

Only game I've ever been scared by. It's H'amaze. I'm hoping they'll re-do part 2 also.

Got a little ahead of myself here. Started playing Cold Fear. Amazing setting and a few scares chucked in so far. Got to the first save point and then promptly got washed off the boat I've been looking at the artwork which has a few scenario spoilers probably but what they were aiming for has been pulled off so far. Looking over the edge of the boat is pretty hurltastic. Sucky controls add to the fear, RE styleee.

So far, a nice build up like Aliens2 with not a lot happening, but imagine it's going to all kick off soon......
