I had Cold Fear and although I never finished it, I was enjoying it. I'm sure I sold it in the end, but I thought it was overlooked at the time.

Been playing some more cold fear. There were 2 points where I've jumped and sworn. The first was a really quiet tense section and my baby monitor burst into life when my daughter started coughing for Britain.Scared. The other was genuinely scary with some fast mutant coming right at me screaming. Most of it has been by the numbers though.
The setting (on the boat) is sensational, but each mutant is pretty similar (although that's what the story demands) so I was getting a little bored. The constant backtrack is doing my head in. Everything on a boat looks so similar and I was finding it hard to remmeber where I was supposed to be going, At one point I was considering giving up, but suddenly discovered I'd already picked up the thing I needed and was still searching for. Doh!
I've been checking out the bonus content. The 3D renders and storyboard artwork are beautiful - I look forward to 20 years time where they can recreate the same level of detail in real-time and scare the poo right out of my bottom. Well maybe not, but you get the idea.
One thing that definitely gets my vote is the music. Creepy. Banging. Atmosphere. Very cool. Makes up for the lacklustre gameplay on many an occasion.

I got Cold Fear not that long back on PS2 from Blockbuster for about £1.99. Been itching to give it some play, though my initial experiences were that it was a tad confusing (though intiguing), and pretty nice-looking. It reminded me a bit of Carrier on Dreamcast, though I got the feeling it would probably be a way better game.
I think the XB version is supposed to have real-time shadows, better lighting, and better load times (though i'm not sure about its BC status). The PS2 version still looks pretty good, mind, and probably isn't that much far behind, truth be told.
