Having decided many games are just out of my reach boxed/complete, I'm going to go cart only for stuff like Castlevania II...to that end, does anyone know anywhere you can buy the plastic clamshells? Quite a few cart only games on fleabay are missing them :/

I initially tried to ensure I had a shell for each cart, but I wouldn't bother tbh. They don't do much other than double the amount of storage space required + make it difficult to see the label. Even Nintendo dropped them eventually. Maybe have a handfull of shells around for when you're carrying games around?

Oh god, i want this SO badly. I have been looking for years for the skeleton yellow gameboy light it's the rarest of them all & there happens to be a complete pristine one on ebay. Sadly ?300+ is way beyond for my budget for a light, but thats about the 4th one i have ever seen in the last 8 years, thats how rare they are.

How many gameboy lights were there in total? I know of the gold and silver ones, the two Atom Boy ones, the Pokemon one, the blister pack one and now this one. Any others?

Bought an original US GB w/ Tetris in what looks to be excellent to mint condition boxset from Myst1kal Ninja on these very forums, and cart only copies of Kirby's Dreamland and Revenge of the Gator last night couldn't be bothered with auctions as I wanted games asap, but I thought £2.99 delivered each was pretty reasonable as they both look to be in decent nick.

Decided to massively cost-cut on my original idea. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE great game packaging and having complete copies of stuff, but I'm not really in a place right now where I need to be spending a load of money on cardboard to go on the shelf gonna dig out my Mario 1/2 and Zelda carts from home too, and just stick to cheap carts. It's the only way I'll ever realistically get stuff like Kid Dracula any time soon anyway.

What do people keep their loose carts in? I guess I could just chuck them all in a box.

You've made the right choice going cart only - you can always pick up a complete copy later. When carts are only a quid or 2, you're not loosing out.
Although I avoid ripped labels, I actually quite like finding a game with 'John. Class 7' etc. scrawled on the back in perm marker. I dunno why!
I started off dumping carts in a shoebox (putting any boxes / instructions up in the loft). I've now got a bigger box that can store the carts standing up, kinda like a Guitar Hero sized box.
I've seen cart collections kept in folders with Pokemon / Baseball card wallets in them. 9 carts per page I think. They looks great kept like this and I'd like to do something similar.
Make sure you get Mole Mania and Shadow Warriors.
I also prefer Pokemon / Kirby pinball to Gator

I prefer super robot pinball for my gameboy pinball fix as it has a ton of modes but pokemon pinball comes a close second

Fortified Zone is a tranlation of Ikari no Yousai 2, which is the sequel to a Super Famicom game that got translated and released in the US as Operation Logic Bomb.

And the game is more fun than the original SRW game too.

Just found some random japanese GB games in my hiding place!

I have never played or opened either of them, so am kinda curious as to their worth ? whether that be in used form or sealed? Which brings me to my next question how were these sealed!

Usually regular Japanese gameboy game boxes were never sealed nintendo didn't bother back then, if they have some form of seal on them it will have been put on by the shop.

I think Fortified Zone is simply Ikari no Yousai (sharing same name with SFC game). I found this a couple of months back:

I found a great way of storing my games. Popping into the Factory Shop at the weekend revealed these ace plastic, stackable boxes....

That's awesome, although it will be a while before I have that many carts. Just going to use a tupperware box or similar for now I think.

Currently eagerly awaiting the arrival of my minty (I think, anyway, from photos) boxed original US Gameboy. Also picked up a boxed licensed Light Boy last night too on ebay in auction for £3 delivered, just for lols*. Also ended up grabbing Alleyway for a quid and currently waiting on a Donkey Kong auction. Trying to pick up some of the early ones for £2ish each basically
