    It's ok, that's usually what fan-my-dod buys!

Not really, having worked in the industry myself there isn't really much attraction in owning a pre-release build in alpha state of a released game. As 99% of the time it will just include more bugs and you probably won’t be able to finish it. You may get the odd extra bit that was taken out for the retail release but for most of the time it will be for good reason. In a sense your paying money for bugs in your game "Wow look I paid £10,000 for this pre alpha build of special game X and it crashes on the first level isn't it great"

The only titles of real value are the one that were canned and never released and even then the few games I work on that happen to were so early, that they were little more than tech demo or a first playable level.

Games that were nearly or where finished now that’s where the money lies for instance Legacy of Kain was finished on the Saturn however Crystal Dynamics couldn’t find a publisher and so the Saturn version was never released. That I would pay to get my hand on a copy, however you would also need a development Saturn to play it on as well.

I never saw the interest in own a video of an unreleased game, when all that exist is that video because that’s all the developer did. If your paying massive amounts of cash for a video it's more of a elitist statement as only a real die hard collector is going to be interested, as for a finished but unreleased game well that’s a different story.

Sega fans have paid silly amounts of money for DC prototypes which were only slightly different to the retail version. Phantasy Star for example, the proto had a slightly different cut-scene involving a dragon, and this difference resulted in it selling for £150 among private collectors (I know because I put the two guys together - I really should have charged commission when that deal went down )

Why didnt you offload the ps1's and saturns to a charity shop?
There's some stuff on ebay now, same user name as here. Will be listing more in the next day or so - check my recently ended auctions for the stuff no relisted - most of it will be going on at 99p anyway.

I used to work in a charity shop as part of an NVQ I did years ago and all the decent stuff used to get nabbed by staff and put on ebay.

Just a couple of PAL consoles. I even tried GIVING them away on here, but no one wanted them.

As long as they paid me extra money for the effort and pain required to destroy it.

I had a look. Could see back 15 days (~70 items). Nothing really sparked my interest, but thanks for letting me know though. ^_^
