Secret Files Tunguska had some piss poor puzzles in it. Using tape, stick a mobile phone to a cat, then send it through the flap and dial the phone?! (or something like that)

Future Wars, just because of the amount of pixel searching you have to do.

Also, the three day time limit made Darkseed a right bitch. Never did finish it.

Sierra games were more unfair than hard. Come on, I died because I looked at a river on the first screen in one of the King's Quests.
I remember getting frustrated at both Discworld games at the time but I managed to complete both without any sort of guide. Was all pre internet for so no place to check. I do recall they were stupid puzzles with next to no logic but I tended to be a matter clicker combining everything I could.

Yeah there were plenty of situations in Sierra's early games where you'd have no chance of progressing all because you made the wrong decision or missed an item. Can't remember the name of it now but it had Quest in the title (wasn't a Kings Quest game), I got up to a certain point where you had to learn the ability to pick locks to progress, problem was I'd missed it and had no way of going back

They were all (the ones I played) ludicrous. I didn't even try the banana on the metronome *sigh* without help.

Remember LucasArts' parody of that sort of situation in Monkey Island 2? I laughed my ass off!

Yep Discworld was pretty hard in places

Cosmic spacehead and blazing dragons were pretty good as well

Not so much hard as I've completed it multiple times, but when I first had Broken Sword I had it in the Charity compilation pack on PS1 and the disc was scratched so at the point with the goat and having the get the sponge wet the game would slow down and I could never get to the place for the sponge before it dried out. Luckily I picked it up at a later date on pc and played it to death

They removed the goat puzzle from the GBA remake. Even the creators knew it was a horrible one.

i dont remember the names of the games but did remember reviews of games where some puzzles had no logic (like two completly seperate and random items had to be put together)

and did here of one where some things were litereally only a few pixels wide on the screen
