Yes I was, I'll try an unofficial one if nobody sells me an official one (please!) I'm reluctant as I used to run a sfc with a gc rgb scart and it was lush that was when I had a CRT mind..

Dan, i may still have an official SFC 21 pin RGB cable from when I owned a SFC. You could buy that if I still have it. I'll have a look tonight when I get home.

            No problem mate.

speedlolita, how much do you think an official japanese SFC RGB cable would fetch? It's unboxed mind you.

I'm sure someone on shmups.system11.org would pay over the odds. I mean, I'd quite like it for my Nintendo 64 to use on my XRGB-2+ but still..

              Maybe £25+?

Wow, as much as that! I'm going to have a good look for that tonight. It should be with my extra Mega Drive and Saturn scarts.

IIRC the official Japanese SCART cables are wired up differently to the UK/ European ones. They would need a bit of re-wiring to work on UK TV's.

Y'know if you don't want to bother with soldering, you can simply twist each capacitor so that the +/- legs tie up together. Job done!

That might be a plan actually. I might give it a go to see the results, and get the 'iron out at the weekend.

Still have to get myself in the attic to get a SNES out (then convince myself that I don't need cable TV on rgb...)

It takes like 30 secs to remove em. Heh

Took me maybe 5 minutes to do this, but I didn't have a stand for the soldering iron to hand

I used cutters to cut the capacitors out (1 at a time so I didn't mix the wires up) then soldered them back in, easy as pie

The BigBen cable (purple box, eBay auction above) is easy to open - unscrew the round bit, then the casing opens like a book, hinged at 1 end.
The cables are not the colouring you'd expect (ie R G B) but they are obvious as the ones with the 3 capacitors on 1 side of the 21 pin connector. There is a 4th capacitor on the earthing cable I think it is, but I just left that there.

Picture is definetly better than compsite is on my 32" LCD. I still suck at Pop 'N Twinbee though...

Maybe more than that. I sold an official SFC AV cable for something like ?16.

I'm thinking of buying a modded SFC and already have an RGB scart cable that was modded for use on a PAL SNES. Will this work on an SFC or are they wired differently?
