Always something that has fascinated me, little glimpses at what might have been and how ideas developed in the systems we know an love. For example:



I love that Sega worked on a controller that wasn't far off the Wii Remote years before that system arrived. And for the system:

Way back before the DC was released I remember one of the Sega mags showing a similar to final prototype that looked amazing but sadly can't find anything similar on the net

The Master System floppy drive is something I was unaware of. Nice find.

I love these threads, only found the master system drive myself last week. Not sure whats been posted yet as I can't see pics at work, but i'll add a good few later when I get home.

I used to draw pictures of what a master system disc drive or cd-rom would be like and write down the library of games Zillion III & CD Wonderboy with cut scenes when I was younger like a tru-saddo.

I recall first seeing this in the Advanced Console Entertainment news letter/price list, which showed that pic of the board, and a few shots with description saying about how a hardware feature was morphing and manipulation, they might've had a jap chick turning into a man or something along those lines.

A ton of those were in OPM over the years. I scanned a ton of protos from Gamesmaster and OPM a while back - shame I lost them. lol

Love some of the designs, some people even own some of those proto pads on ASSEMbler. :<

Weren't there also pictures of a Megadrive keyboard and disk drive, plus modem going around for ages in the magazines, around the time of the MD's Japanese release?

That's nice, seen it a few times. Whip it on it's side, paint it white and you've almost got the wii mind you.
