    Retro Gaming Sites

Figured i'd start a thread on what retro gaming sites people like to visit, sort of a recommendation thread really. Two of my favourites are:

    Satoshi Matrix
Mainly retro reviews which are covered fairly indepth along with a bit of history of said game, easily one of my favourite review sites.

    F*ck Yeah Famicom
The forums swear filter won't allow me to add a link but it's a site dedicated to all things Famicom, mainly pics, flyers, artwork etc.

Why is US Shenmue a waste of time?

A really stupid idea from Sega this was. Why the hell did they release a fully English language version of Shenmue in Japan (which has the worst percentage of English speakers in Asia) without the ability to change ALL of the text in to Japanese or have Japanese voices. And why the hell is it called US Shenmue ???? What has the bloody US got to do with Shenmue ??? Is it because it's in English ? Well if that's the case why not call it Shenmue International like they did with Sonic Adventure 1? Anyway, this is just the God awful American dubbed version of Shenmue with it's grinding American voices (sorry to any Americans reading this but it really does sound awful, the Japanese version is a million times nicer to the ears) So if you have played the Japanese version of Shenmue then stay clear from this. I'd rather they had released the European version of Shenmue 2 with it's Japanese voices and English text instead of this trash. Oh and this flopped like hell in Japan. Looks like I'm not the only one who thought it was a stupid idea.

I didn't mind the English dub. Its silliness and stilted delivery added to the charm for me.

I really like Dieubussy's Eastern Minds, since every time I visit (which isn't nearly often enough) it contains something I've never seen before. In a way it's almost intimidating how often he breaks new ground. The Mizzurna Falls a few pages in is a highlight.

I will say this though, I don't like the tumblr design, since it makes it difficult to find older archived entries, compared to a standard blog or website. Still, worth persevering with.

It's a great site Sketz (HCG101 i mean). It's not a site i visit really regularly but when i do it there's always plenty of stuff to hold my attention for a fair old while and it's always well written and insightful.

It reminds me a bit of Maximum magazine in t'internet form.

And it's just made me buy Hellfire S for the PC Engine..........

The Japanese version of Shenmue is the best. Brilliant voice acting and i swear less slowdown than the Pal version.
